  1. Thanks for the help guys - this gives a whole new perspective! Oh - and yes - I was wrong about 9,8 m/s and termianl velocity - thanks for clearing that out Champ!
  2. If I am not confusing terms, terminal velocity is the speed at which an object falls. Speed of free fall - I am pretty sure it is 9,8 m/s from my school days.
  3. I have read, that while in the atmosphere it is best to keep the rocket's speed at around the speed of terminal velocity to maximise fuel efficiency. Below that speed the rocket will fall, and above it the rocket suffers from excess drag. However I fail to find what is the terminal velocity on Kerbal... On Earth it is 9.8 m/s, but on Kerbal?
  4. I have read the Wikipedia entry on making a gravitational maneuver in KSP, however I fail to see it's effect. I get my rocket to 100 m/s, switch to orbit on top of the Navball and start turning the rocket left, towards prograde. Strangely - the prograde marker is way to the left when I start the maneuver, while the Wiki states entry that the gravitational maneuver should be done by small adjustments all the way up, not just one single turn to the horizon. And after that I fail to see any big improvement in height reached when compared with a strictly vertical flight. Maybe I am missing something here?
  5. Is there a way of understanding where right and left is on the Navball? For example - if I change the camera angle before start, pressing right might result in the rocket going left and vice versa. This is very confusing.
  6. I launch a spacecraft and switch to the map view (M), however there is no orbit indication on it. No spacecraft symbol too... If I switch to the Satellite Center and go to the tracking station the spacecraft isn't listed also.
  7. To boldly go where no man ever went... (c.) I'll do just that - thanks :-)
  8. Hello! I have only started playing KSP and I am confused. This is day 1 - I have completed all of the contracts, except the 2500 km/sec one (I can do it, but I can't save the Kerbal afterwards). And now I have nothing else to do... I was imagining I would get to launch communication staellite, unmanned probes to other planets, build the ISS and loads of other stuff like that, but nothing like that is being offered to me by the game. I have tried warping the game to no avail... Maybe I am doing something wrong?
  9. Hello. I have a rocket, equipped with a command module and a pilot. However, when I try to engage SAS i get a message ""Shipname" as no operational SAS Modules and o |pilots onboard. Cannot engage SAS." I get this message both prior to launch, while inflight and back on the ground. Am I doing something wrong?
