I'm trying to park in Moho orbit, and have noticed the small radiator panels just above the 4 clusters of three NERV engines are flashing between bright red and dull red. Does this mean they about to explode? I think it does, and am turning on the ignore max temp cheat in a few minutes if this persists.

It can be really difficult to stick a landing on some of the smaller moons in the Kerbol system. I propose modifying the Advanced Grabbing Unit so it can serve as a means of grabbing the surface to stop a lander on a dime. Like the Millennium Falcon's landing claw in Empire Strikes Back. A harpoon like that little comet probe used would also work.

So I just conducted a test flight of my new 15.5 K Delta-V Moho vehicle, but the test ended in a rather novel accident. The craft uses 4 TVR-1180C MK1 Stack Tri-Couplers to mount 4 clusters of 3 Nerv Atomic Engines, but before it got to the atomic burn stage, the tri-couplers exploded. According to the flight event log, the exhaust from the previous stage engines was heating them, they hit 2000 K, and promptly exploded. This set the rocket into a three-axis spin, and it eventually disintegrated. I reverted back to the assembly building, obviously. I think I've managed to fix the problem, by putting radiators as close to the tri-couplers as possible, but you can't actually attach anything to the upper surface of said couplers. That is a rather inconvenient program decision. You can't even attach struts to them. This should be amended in the next KSP update.

Is a Delta-V of 14400 m/s enough to get to Moho? I'm asking because I just struck out with 10,600 m/s earlier. I don't like cheating with infinite fuel, but I'm starting to think that is the only way to get to that inconvenient little rock. I launch from Kerbin's surface direct to Kerbol orbit.

I'm designing a large rocket station to go to Moho, rescue some stranded kerbals in orbit, rendezvous with a lander lifting one kerbal off the surface, and bring a tiny capsule back. It won't land, but will go relatively close to the surface. At the moment, it is propelled by 8 of those tiny side mounted "thug" motors, with a maximum acceleration in its departure configuration is about 3 m/s/s. It that enough acceleration to break away from Moho's SOI?

I have two Kerbals sitting on Moho, whom I had rescue missions for, but cancelled those contracts. The Kerbals were left on Moho, and I just tried to pick them up. They weren't there. They showed up on the map, but when I landed right on top of where they should be, there was nothing there. I went back to mission control, and got an error box saying their weren't loaded because their models weren't found. I don't really want those Kerbals, so how do I get rid of the map markers? They show up when I track active EVA's. To summarize, how do I get rid of map markers for Kerbals that have ceased to exist?

Is there an addon that will show me the angle of bodies in the Kerbal System, and of my rockets relative to other bodies?

Target Center of Mass
Zosma Procyon replied to Zosma Procyon's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I'm going to try with a different asteroid. And anyway, it takes an hour to get into position. My last attempt ended in a crash. -
Target Center of Mass
Zosma Procyon replied to Zosma Procyon's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I'm using Mechjeb, but not for Targeting the Center of Mass since it does not have that function. And when I say off to the side, I mean WAY off to the side. Like 60+ degrees off on two axis, and not even pointing at the asteroid. -
The "Target Center of Mass" function is broken. Instead of aiming for the COM of an asteroid, it points off to the side. I'm using Mechjeb, but not for Targeting the Center of Mass since it does not have that function. And when I say off to the side, I mean WAY off to the side. Like 60+ degrees off on two axis, and not even pointing at the asteroid. Is it possible this is a problem with that asteroid?

The new MK1 crew cabin needs a hatch on the top. It isn't very usable with entry and egress only possible through the ends, which are normally blocked.

Is there a way to avoid or fix exception errors?

Kern Protection Failure
Zosma Procyon posted a topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I keep getting kern protection failures during my launches. This is the data in the crash report. I'm on a newish macbook pro, running Yosemite. I have the most recent KSP build. Process: KSP [1944] Path: /Applications/KSP_osx/KSP.app/Contents/MacOS/KSP Identifier: unity.Squad.Kerbal Space Program Version: Unity Player version 4.6.4f1 (4.6.4f1) Code Type: X86 (Native) Parent Process: ??? [1] Responsible: KSP [1944] User ID: 501 Date/Time: 2015-12-11 22:29:58.557 -0600 OS Version: Mac OS X 10.10.5 (14F1021) Report Version: 11 Anonymous UUID: 28741B23-6DF8-25AF-5249-2A7C2982849A Time Awake Since Boot: 3300 seconds Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x00000000bf7ffffc Is there a way to fix this. It's really annoying. -
If been getting the same exception while trying to launch a large MK3 based base-lander. The details are as follows. Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x00000000bf7ffffc I'm on a MacBook Pro, running OS 10.10.5 Is there a fix available for this? I'm using Mechjeb2, and I think I'm fully updated.

I've been trying to launch a very large, 1.8 million credit rocket to Vall. But I've had a problem. TT18-A Launch Stability Enhancers keep falling from sky, and hitting the outer boosters, causing them to explode and the entire rocket to follow. To counter this problem, i've had to use cheats to turn off crash damage. Is there a way to stop those things from falling from nowhere?

It would be cool if the Space Suits of Kerbins were color coded in accordance with their occupations. Red stripes for pilots, blue for scientists, and gold for engineers. It would also be nice to know what the occupation of a Kerbin was before you accept the rescue mission for them, like mention it in the description. I have more pilots than I could ever need, and only about 4 or 5 engineers.

Mechjeb did the trick. My docking craft used the Klaw instead of an airlock, so I had to tap it in over the last 10 meters. I almost salvaged a shipwreck from Kerbin orbit, but my pod landed on a mountain and rolled down a few hundred meters. Ended up in pieces. Anyway I finally got the docking contract out of the way. This is solved.

I there a way to get rid of a contract with no expiration date or cancel button, that you don't want or can't figure out how to do? Specifically, I'm talking about docking two vessels in orbit. I've been trying for over a month. I can get craft into essentially the same orbit, within 100 meters, match speeds fairly well. But primarily because of the defective circuitry in my own peripheral nervous system (meaning I have extremely poor hand eye coordination), I can not get two craft stationary relative to each other or dock them. I've tried with both airlocks and the Klaw. I've even been considering cheating by launching two craft docked, and undocking in orbit, then docking again before they get more than 20 meters apart. At this point I'm just sick of it and want to get rid of that contract to open up another slot for a three star contract. I haven't tried using addons; not because I'm against them, but because I'm not sure they'll work in career mode. So if there a way I can get rid of this contract? It has no expiration date or cancel button. And if I get rid of it, is there a progression i'll miss. I realize my lack of docking skills limits my orbital rendezvous potential, but I prefer direct assents.

I'm currently running version 1.0.2.842, and my launcher won't find any further updates. I tried unpacking the zip file patcher, and logged into it with my store account, but nothing happened. I just finished the research tree in my career mode, so I would really like to not have to reinstall again. I am not running on steam.
