Imagine you're sitting in a command pod, when suddenly all controls are cut, excluding the stage key. This is in effect for your entire computer, and you can't change any keys. Now for the challenge: Build a rocket without any intention of manually steering. This of course rules out any code-mods, or hyperedit. Here's the plan: You'd steer the rocket only by spacebar, and (in my mind) just put on sepatrons. You'd tweak the fuel and power parameters to *just* tilt you that far. You are allowed to use action groups, for -160 points. It takes patience, but it pays off. Maybe. Not really, but then again, what does? It's just a matter of pressing space, to get to space! Need a score? Here's a grading scale. Stable rocket: 40 points To orbit: 80 points To Mun/Minmus: 100 Points Orbit Mun/Minmus: 150 points Planetary Transfer: 240 points Orbit planet: 450 points Land on Planet: 700 points Return without landing*: 600 points Return with landing: 2500 points Land on Mun/Minmus 175 points Return from Mun: 250 points *from any body Add these up for what you did. Have fun and do your best! Oh, and be sure to have pictures! At least one of the craft, one of its farthest location, and one of its final destination. Extra points for extra pictures, at +5 per pic.
