  1. Thanks, a way to keep my mind working, while enjoying myself in an alternate planetary system.
  2. As a retired aerostructures engineer, and finally having time to enter the worlds of Kerbal, I am interested in my own self directed research, development and exploration program. That is take the existing components and test them (i.e. engine in a test stand to obtain performance data, test launch escape systems, component arrangements and effects, etc.), starting with rudimentary engines (a V2 parallel), working through basic engineering and science progressing through to Kerbin orbit and science collection... I think you can continue with the path I am considering...Vikerbal, Kerssini, Kerbal Horizons. Is this a pipe dream? Any suggestions as to add-ins or extensions to accommodate the R&D side of things... Looking for experienced guidance, some sly misdirection and whatever falls my way.
  3. Right now looking at the threads and install instructions, the manual mod installation appears to be a drawn out affair...maybe a mountain out of a molehill, and looking in the wrong place.
  4. Geonovast, thank-you for your time and trouble...all I need then is to assign the linux equivalent of a shortcut to the KSP.x86_64 file. Out of curiousity, where is the best place to get cKan, or is there something else you would recommend to facilitate getting add-ins?
  5. Hi, Randy from Nova Scotia, Canada. Been following KSP for years. Background in Aerospace Engineering...so contemplating approaching from a KSP Aerospace Test and Development. While really interested in the full monty Career mode, I think it doesn't allow me to follow an iterative, progressive growth like was experienced in the real Space Race of the 50's, 60's, 70's...developing expertise and knowledge... But here is the issue...new to Linux (Mint) and just getting my mind wrapped around that, and then decide to take up the challenge of installing KSP...and encountering difficulties...any assistance, guidance, words of wisdom, ancient Kerbal proverbs would be appreciated
  6. Which is ultimately the best source to purchase KSP from, when considering ease of installation?
  7. Directly from the Kerbal Space Program web store...maybe a bad choice if installation is easier through other venues
  8. New to Linux (Mint) and even newer to KSP. Attempting to install in Linux, however, per the Readme I am looking for the install scipt (dlc-mhe-[lang].command) and cannot find it... Help!!! Maybe too much new at one time, but that wouldn't be very Kerbalistic...would it? And then there is CKan....
