I thought you could strut to the fairing?

If the game doesn't let you do it directly, you can do it indirectly by building girders through the fairing and then trying to strut to the girder. The strut will stop at the fairing and it will hold normally.

But I thought they changed it so you could just strut to the fairing.

I don't remember for sure because just a couple autostruts always fixes it for me, though now that robotics plays oddly with autostruts I may revisit the technique.

I tried both strutting to the fairing and your workaround. Neither worked. I can attach struts to the fairing base, however.

At the moment we are putting a team together.

I have started working on updating the mod.

Releases will be done on a boat by boat basis starting with the pleasure craft.

Dont expect an official release before 1.1 though.

And just chucking it out there...

Due to the large amount of people wanting to use this for military boats Ineed to ask you guys how would you like to have armor work for these parts,

I was thinking of a heatshield like part which use a new resource called Armor. This was discussed and is easy to do but, is not exactly realistic.

What do you guys think? is this a good trade of? or should a more realistic way be created?

(In other words write a armor plugin and I have no idea on how to even approach this)

How about side attachment points that you slap the armor onto?

the problem i have is that i use firespitters mod to transport the ship to the water, it loads then explodes every time for reasons unknown.

ps the submarines tail need fixing as it flops around.

pss sorry for coming across meanfully as i was frustrated with the mod not working.

Firespitter's thing doesn't work, I've tried it on stock craft before.

why do you want clip on parts if you have dedicated parts?!?!?!?!

landed on carrier is an achievement, all i've done is gotten the gears caught on the lip at the back and exploded

they have about the same level of reward.....

WWII style aircraft carriers, that's why.

  4. A few update suggestions:

    • A tailhook, arresting wire, and catapult system for carriers? Unless 600 meters is enough to land a jet on.
    • Fuel/electric charge in sub parts(whichever the engines use)
    • Thrust reversers on  the water jets?
    • Carrier decks that get stuck on top of battleship hulls, like when carrier parts were first introduced

Just  a few things that would be nice.

WW2 Antennas are from NAS BDA submod and boxy tanish turret? You mean Millenium Oerlikon?

Nooo, Ring anntena is different mod, but anntenas from WWII is from NAS....I'll try remmber :D.

I found out the turret is from master tech, but the antenna is still a mystery...

    Hi all,

Here is the bearing I showed on the WIP thread.

I included an example craft that uses the bearing as a turret that can swivel and pitch up and down.

It is quite fragile even though it is stable and reliable in normal usage. I don't think it will work as a helicopter bearing as my tests didn't go well. It is uncontrollable and pulls itself apart if you try to maneuver it.

Its the smallest bearing I have seen and the pivoting is really cool though and it works upside down too.

When you construct something above it try to keep the center of mass close to the center of the bearing. It is quite forgiving though.

And don't swivel when at full pitch.

I can imagine it being a very cool crane for loading and unloading things or as Snuggler suggested a rotating crew cabin on a station or large craft.

Anywhoo, have a play with it and see what you can come up with.

Almost certainly not. I haven't seen a current list of prefixes and suffixes (post-female), but to get that, "-ler" (which is in the male list) would require a "Hyt-," or there would need to be both "Hy-" and "-tler." There is a Mitler Kerman, though.

"Sta-" and "-lyn" are of course valid female name parts.

    Yeah, I've had him before...
