What free video editor is the best for KSP videos?
Ultimate Steve replied to Pawelk198604's topic in The Lounge
@Kerbart I also use ShotCut! And, like the OP, I once used Windows Movie Maker. To the OP, ShotCut can be a bit confusing at first, but once you get into it the user interface is almost similar to Movie Maker, as well as offering about 10x more functionality. My main gripes with ShotCut are the fact that it doesn't have transition effects (that I know of) and adding onscreen text takes twice as long as it does in WMM. However, this is easily overlookable as I can finally do splitscreen, zoom, multiple audio/video sources, and much more with ShotCut. I would fully recommend it. -
totm nov 2023 SpaceX Discussion Thread
Ultimate Steve replied to Skylon's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Hmm, good idea. I may just try to do that as well, provided the flight timeline is released early enough. -
It looks like the main engine failed a health check. This might be a major problem (need a new engine) or a minor one (bad wire connection, need to replace a wire). EDIT: This is wrong. It was the solid rocket booster health check. It's looking like they might need a new booster (?). We know for certain that launch cannot occur today, because the launch arms retracted and those require a pretty extensive procedure to reconnect.

And hold.. with the engine on?

Ran to post this, but someone already did. Go Arianespace!

Update: The weird clouds were from the wildfires. Afterwards, it turned grey-green-yellow, bright white, and then back to normal grey.
-
Okay, uh, this may sound a bit weird, but our sky was yellow. Then it was dark-ish green... then it turned light yellow-green... and now it's orange... I think it's turning pink. I'm not lying, I promise. This is so weird... I'm sort of creeped out by it.

Oh, Elon time, huh? A while ago he said he would update us on the ITS. In order of statements: Update on the ITS on our site within the month. Okay, we need a few more weeks. Almost there. Maybe in a few months. IAC 2017. On the plus side, IAC 2017 is right around the corner! -
That's actually a 1:1 replica, not an actual Saturn V, but you can find it at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The building next to the replica actually contains a real Saturn V (although I think it was the STA or something) along with Apollo 12's quarantine center, one of the Apollo swing arms, the Apollo 16 capsule, and a whole bunch of other cool stuff! It's also where Space Camp is.

Cantab Learns Python with KSP and kRPC.
Ultimate Steve replied to cantab's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Nice! Also, sort of off topic, but how do you get the weird code windows you can scroll in? I've been on the forum for 1.5 years now and I never found out how to do that. Also, this could turn out to be very interesting! I've followed this. I wonder how much code would be needed for a Mun mission... -
Project Intrepid (Chapter 61 - The Sirens Of Moho)
Ultimate Steve replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Finally... I'm so sorry that it took so long. Life got crazy. Note1: "Parts" are now "Chapters." Chapter Thirty-Nine - Launch Everything -
I sort of did... ish... I mean, uh, our school does tryouts in a relaxed fashion. Guys and Dolls is a play where there are very few girl parts and a lot of guy parts. There were about forty girls at tryouts and ten guys, so we were pretty much expected to go onstage whenever there was a part where a girl was talking with a guy (because we had 40 girls to get through). So I went up there for the grandpa part, and apparently I played it somewhat well... And I've actually been told that I'm somewhat pessimistic about my own singing ability. So, who knows, maybe it will turn out all right.

Ultimate Steve replied to Streetwind's topic in Science & Spaceflight
September 9 or 10? Wow, that's sooner than I thought it would be! Best of luck to @Copenhagen Suborbitals or @Copenhagen_Suborbitals, whichever one of you is the real one! Also, would anyone know how high they are planning to get this one? -

Does Apollo 10 could land on the moon?
Ultimate Steve replied to Pawelk198604's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Yeah, I could totally see myself making an unplanned Lunar landing against my orders... -
Google (because I had to google it to figure out what it was)

I promise, I'm making progress! Teaser image: -
Ahh, sorry. I'd pressed "Submit" while I was still on the first page of the topic, but it didn't switch over to the last page like it usually does... so I pressed it again.

About three years ago I came up with an acronym: ESREP - Eve Self Refueling Exploration Plane. Today I finally have a reason to start building it... More to come. Maybe.
