  1. Usually, before a launch I just call whether a flight is a simulation or an actual mission. If it's a simulation, I'm allowed to revert; otherwise, I must deal with the consequences.
  2. Correct me if I'm stupid, but wouldn't darkening the marker colors (i.e. making the prograde/retrograde vector a forest green instead of a lime green) render the markers visible to someone who is colorblind?
  3. I don't believe Danny2462 has a KSP Forum account, but I know for a fact that Kerbals can indeed pitch, yaw, and roll - there are just no keys bound to those actions. Thus, if one had an external controller, a head-down landing should be a cinch. I'll go test this theory immediately, and post the results. EDIT: There are indeed bindings for pitching, yawing, and rolling the Kerbal, but they seem to do nothing in-atmosphere...
  4. Ah, great idea! But why stop there? If you're purchasing a decently sized SSD as a secondary drive, you might as well move your Steam install and other games to it, giving all your games blazing-fast load times. ... I think I have an SSD lying around. Be right back.
  5. You may have to watch your launch window from now on...
  6. Looks like a nice Mun rocket. I wouldn\'t call it inept at all! I\'m with you on the orthogonal RCS thrusters; they make translation much less of a pain!
  7. We can\'t post explosions on this forum?! But... but... KSP is all about explosions :\'(
  8. JEB: Alright, we\'re heading home. Another successful Mun mission! High fives all around! 8) BILL: Wait, what is that on the radar? ??? BOB: Unknown object approaching! Distance is 300m and closing. BILL: We have visual - it\'s our communications satellite. > JEB: Okay, got it. Distance? BOB: Distance is 150m. ??? JEB: Bill, activate SAS and point us in the opposite direction of the satellite. Tell me when you\'re done. 8) BILL:Got it. ??? BOB: Distance 100m! We\'re gonna crash! BILL: I hope this works, Jeb... fire! JEB: Firing! JEB:...We\'re at zero fuel. RCS is shot too. Distance, Bob? 8) BOB: AAHHHHH!!! JEB:... Bill? BILL: AAHHHHH!!! JEB: Fine, I\'ll do it myself! *shoves Bob out of the way of the radar console* JEB: Distance 50m. We\'re still closing. ...Crud. JEB: Distance 40m. I guess this is the end. JEB: Engineering, it was great working with you. This rocket gave us a smooth ride. :\'( JEB: So this is how it ends. Brace for impact. *dink* JEB: Huh? ??? JEB: We\'re 20m from the satellite... and rising! BILL: ...what? BOB: We\'re OK! JEB: Good to be with you guys still. The engine slowed us enough to prevent a fatal impact. 8) BILL: We\'ve sustained damage. We\'ve lost an RCS thruster, and the fuel tank is ruptured. BOB: The fuel tank\'s empty, we\'re fine! We\'re fine! JEB: We\'re entering the atmosphere now. We\'re home, guys. We\'re home. 8)
  9. This is incredibly awesome and... yeah. You guys win. When I finish my (terrible) part pack, I know where I\'m hosting it.
  10. I\'d recommend NovaPunch for sure, and it\'d be worth your time to checkout the C7 Flight/Aerospace packs. If you have the full game, make sure to visit the Plugins section, as there are many cool things there. Mod compatibility is usually a non-issue, so you can stuff a ridiculous amount of parts into your KSP folder. In most cases, the only limit on the amount of parts you can have is your computer.
  11. Seriously, r4m0n, you make way too many awesome plugins. Great job.
  12. Woo! Holonomic rovers on the Mun! I am going to have way too much fun making a lander that drops, say, ten rovers at once. ;D
  13. You travel up to Floor 88... wait... everything is fading out- *blacks out* When you awaken, you\'re on Floor 38 back in the normal world with no memory of the posts after reply #52. The power is out, and you\'re looking up at a virtual reality machine. You wish you could use it, but the power\'s out. You can: A)Go up one floor B)Go down one floor C)Wait for power to return (believe it, I just wiped 108 posts off the map)
  14. Good to see you guys are okay. I bet Jeb\'s behind this; has he been launching his, eh, 'inventions' again?
  15. Wow, that is awesome. Space station time! You know, you can make sideways and upside-down attachment nodes. I wonder if it\'s possible to make a rotating part like the landing legs with a node on the end...
  16. I like Lua myself. It\'s a nice, clean language and it interfaces with C# very well as far as I know. I think a fully-documented Lua API would be wonderful for KSP. However, I would like to see the current one stay open as it offers more freedom to programmers.
  17. Oh wow, this is nice. Hmm, the thrusters on the side of the Eagle look awfully similar to the ones in the NovaPunch pack...
  18. This seems fun. I\'m going to give it a go now. A couple questions, though: 1. Are all C7 parts allowed, meaning both the C7 Flight Pack and C7 Aerospace Pack? 2. Any place I can find a topographic map of Kerbin so I can pick a landing point?
  19. Well, let\'s see here. Motherboard: MSI 760GM-E51 (AM3 Socket) CPU: AMD Phenom II X6, 6 [email protected] GHz RAM: Corsair DDR3 RAM (4GB * 2) GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 550Ti Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium Storage: 1x Corsair NOVA 60GB SSD (OS and KSP), 1x Maxtor 250GB HDD (Storage) Cooling: Air, Stock + 1x80mm fan Manufacturer: Found lying by the side of the road Self-built Cost: Around $850 Performance: --Team Fortress 2: 60FPS, max settings --Portal 2: 60FPS, max settings --KSP: 60FPS, max settings (except during explosions ) --Minecraft: 24FPS, minimum settings (...?) --Skyrim: ??FPS, ?? settings (dunno yet.)
  20. I\'d gladly pay $30 for this game, so I\'ll buy 2 licenses after the price jump.
  21. Haha, that is clever. Theoretically, you could make any part a landing leg, as long as it has ridiculous impact tolerance. LFE legs, anyone?
