  1. OK, thanks. I'll have to find a different way of getting those temperature readings then!
  2. Flying planes in KSP is rather frustrating. But one of the things that I find most infuriating is that my plane always arrives about 10 feet above the runway, and proceeds to drop down onto it. Invariably, it then bounces on the totally inadequate wheels (I only have the stock basic landing gear at the moment) and explodes. Why does my plane always start so high? I've built it on the floor of the hanger, but it makes not the blindest bit of difference - launch 10 ft off the ground, drop and boom.
  3. Hello! Well that was a faff! Having played the demo on my Win10 VM on a macbook, I bought the full version from Squad. It insisted on two address lines, even though I only have one, but I got there in the end. But, ugh! The Win10 versions crashed my VM - even after I'd given the VM more memory and graphics memory. Didn't matter if it was 32 bit or 64 bit. Couldn't get the Mac version working at all ... until finally I realised that I only needed to move the KSP.APP out and back again. Then, hurrah! So all Kerballed up, and my big achievement of the day, just as night was falling over the KSC, was to make it into space ... and back in one piece! I even got the hang of steering the rocket! Yay! So hello from Essex, England. To the stars!
  4. OK, thanks for all the advice. Bought the PC version from Squad! Hello! I'm new to KSP
  5. Ah. I misread the FAQ. I thought it said that it was a platform specific purchase but now see that it was referring to the console ports. That makes it an easier choice!
  6. That's useful to know. Does having Steam involved slow the game down at all?
  7. Greetings. I have been trying out the demo version with a view to buying it properly, and so far so fun. Countless crashes - my favourite was the time my stages released the clamps before the engines fired, and my unbalanced rocket fell over and exploded on the launch pad. I also laughed hysterically as the command module fell back to Kerbin from the upper atomosphere without the EVA-ing Kerbal! Oops. Anyway, I am running the Windows demo, because I couldn't get the Mac one to work on my 2014 Macbook Pro - it stuck on the loading screen. It's nothing to do with the Macbook specs, because the Windows demo is playing inside a Win10 Virtual Machine on the same Macbook. But I also have an Xbox One. So should I get the Windows version that I know works, the Xbox version, or go for the native Mac version and hope that I can persuade it to start? And if anyone has any handy "how to make it work on a Mac" hints, then do let me know - I've tried all the obvious ones that I can find online Thanks Stuart
