I was trying to get to Duna but part of my maneuver ended up being out of antenna range. (I forgot to deploy it, doh!). So, instead of letting the craft just drift in space I figured I'd crash it into something. I had *just* enough delta-v to crash back into Kerbin. The funny thing is that the vessel was *almost* completely destroyed in the re-entry. All that survived was MechJeb2. LOL. Here it is during re-entry: Here it is tumbling on the ground after it landed: Then, to my surprise, it counted as a "safe" return from orbiting the Sun!!!

Hello to all. I had to tell someone who might care so I'm putting it here. :-) I'm just now landing from my first flight to Minmus. I only had enough delta-V to enter Kerbin atmosphere on the return trip. Given that, I had to "airbreak" 3 times in the atmosphere to slow down enough to drop to the ground. LOL. It took all my battery power too (as I was trying to stay retrograde). I hope my next flight to Minmus isn't so "close" to failure. :-P
