  1. I have this problem too, but only when I type in coordinates. If I select it from the surface of a body it lands flawlessly.
  2. Apathy Aerospace will pay you your rocket's initial cost (p) plus 35% p for a fully reusable suborbital (or orbital) space plane
  3. Do it's "solar panels" replenish its fuel fast enough that it can burn continuously under direct sunlight? And because it shares the same fuel as other engines could it be used to replenish fuel of other engines?
  4. Are putting 0 or 180 in your ascent autopilot? Because that refers to your inclination and not heading. If you want to your heading to be 0 or 180 you should put 90 or 270 into the inclination spot on your autopilot.
  5. No, it's definitely a 90 degree orbit, but I put it on 10x speed (which I think is the maximum speed it works at), left it on overnight and still only had half of Minmus covered
  6. But 90 degrees takes forever to get Minmus completely covered
  7. Does anybody know the most ideal orbit height and inclination to map the various bodies? I'm afraid I don't understand the math behind all the physics to figure it out myself.
  8. It looks a lot like the shine of the Mun Arch. Is it possible that there are any anomalies in orbit that the devs have simply never talked about and we've never found them because space is so big?
  9. Also for anyone who cares the particular station pictured in the original post was recently destroyed in a tragic mishap during a supply mission that resulted in the death of all 27 personnel.
  10. I just teleport it using Orbital Construction. Or sometimes when I feel like not cheating I'll actually get all the parts up there in many different missions and build it in space. But I figure they accomplish the same thing, and are almost the same difficulty, one is just less time-consuming so I figure why not just teleport it?
  11. I never had that problem. But you could try the traditional message of adding far too many struts, or if it's the ground that's getting in the way you could build a smaller "fake" stage beneath Athena and attach launch stabilizers to the very bottom. (Important note, if you try to jump a ship still attached to stabilizers all stages attached to them will remain on the launch pad).
  12. aWith the impending discovery of planets, Kerbal politicians decided it would be a great time to begin researching space colonies. After 12 testing casualties and a few minutes of research on Wikipedia KASA (Kerbal Aeronautics and Space Administration) unveiled the first colony. The Athena can house a total of 53 Kerbals, 40 housing units are equipped with centrifugal gravity, has eight fuel engines and an ion engine powered by the solar panels that usually power life-support and plumbing, and the entire station has a focus on induced gravity research. It currently has 27 inhabitants and orbits at 2000 KM. 13. You\'re problem is that your rocket is gigantic. The larger your rocket is the more thrust is needed and the more unstable it will be. For a one man lander you can easily get away with three stages and possibly even make a powered landing at the KSC. Try laterally coupling things much earlier on. Remember, more thrust doesn\'t mean a better rocket, you want a better thrust-to-weight ratio, which is best achieved with minimal rockets. But all said, a very good rocket for a beginner, I remember my first Mun capable rocket was so big I had to cover it in winglets and RCS thrusters just to keep it pointing up during take-off.
  14. Up until yesterday MechJeb was working amazingly for me (and most of it still is) but I ran into a problem with timing my auto-piloted ascents to rendezvous. I followed all the instructions in the manual, unless I missed something all four times I read it. First you do the practice launch with the height and heading you want to rendezvous with, end the flight, land or crash, and then do the same thing with the timer on. But during the final ascent MechJeb always pitches my rocket sideways and it crashes into the ground a short way from the KSC, killing the kerbonauts. Does anybody know how to fix this?
  15. I\'ve built a rocket capable off flying to the Mun and Minmus. But when I try to land my engine falls off. Everything stays intact, even the engine that is then sitting on the ground. I come in at a little less than 10 m/s usually. I\'ve tried connecting it with struts, but they haven\'t helped. Have any others had this problem, if so, how did you overcome it?
