The parachute deployment height is the height over the terrain.

In here you seem to be missing a closing bracket, which ends up putting everything after it in the Properties node. And in here, you also seem to be missing a closing bracket for the Material node. Both of these errors cause the file to be missing 2 closing brackets at the end, which may be why it's causing an exception of "Failed to read past end of stream."
