MISSION REPORT O-III SUBJECT: ORBITER III RESULT: FAILURE WITH MULTIPLE FATALITIES CREW STATUS NEDGAS KERMAN - KIA HILSTEAD KERMAN - KIA NEZER KERMA - KIA OBJECTIVE: REACH 500KM AND PERFORM SCIENTIFIC EVA. DETAILS: Nominal results at launch, booster decouples prematurely shortly after tower cleared, triggering L.E.S. During launch escape procedure the parachute failed to deploy, causing the command pod to land at 70 m/s, killing all crew members.
