Hi folks, I was looking around a few mods to try to find a Service Bay with an Iris door but came up empty so please recommend if it exists, on second thought petal door would work too even though the petals opening would make placing the engines on the side a bit more difficult Scenario is that I want to have this under my rocket to store a reusable rover. Basically have a telescoping hydraulic cylinder with a docking port attached to the rover (makes sense to have just one iris door because the other end is attached to the rocket) open the iris door lower my rover undock and go collect science come back dock pull it back in close the iris door fly away Also is there a way/place where I can see what parts (preferably with photos) a mod contains? It's quite tedious to install each one, load the game, try it, uninstall and repeat Thanks a lot!
  3. IMHO this should either be removed or given a purpose like for example consider Machinery like some sort of tooling requirement based on the size of the part being assembled. Like have 100 Machinery requirement for a 1m3 volume part and 1000 Machinery for a 10m3 volume part. If you'll consider this idea it will probably need a better formula for scaling up as there are huge parts out there like the B9 HX ships and having millions of Machinery needed for that will probably be quite restrictive @allista Thank you for all the great work!
  4. Hi folks, I recently started using this awesome mod and I find it quite enjoyable One thing that puzzles me is how does Machinery affect anything? I did a search of the forums plus Google and also tried a few scenarios, I couldn't find any reason to have more than the minimum required 95 (default 100) It doesn't get consumed at any point and it doesn't seem to affect any speed or efficiency of any process, I tried with 100 and 10000, I'm quite puzzled, is this part of a future development idea or am I missing something? Thanks
  5. Thanks, I checked and I was actually using that version. Looking at it again made me realize my mistake, I didn't check the requirements so that's why I didn't have all of the components Will check the Near Future packs
  6. Hi folks, I recently ran into the B9 Aerospace mod/plugin while searching for a procedural NUK generator (I use them almost exclusively and when I add over 50 the game slows down quite a lot). For lack of a better term I found these components epic but to my disappointment I saw that the last update was in 2014 so I have 2 questions about it 1. Does anyone know if there are any plans and or interest to revive it? 2. In the pictures posted on the mod page I see a lot more components than I can find, is it because it's old and those implement older interfaces so they are automatically filtered out when loading or they were just removed? Here's a crazy design that can handle any mission (except Eve landing) and come and land at KSP (it does cost about 28 million ) Thanks!
  7. Thank you for all your insights! I am a little confused as to why do these work. Shouldn't they have the same issues I am having? (I basically copied the design and made 4 instead of 2, I also tried with 2 as in the first video and it still didn't work the same way) As I understand based on your answers the behavior I'm seeing is as expected
  8. I put the motor right on top of CoM and still the same thing...there must be something else going on, how do other people make functional helicopters?

  10. Hi folks, I'm new to the forum but playing for a while now but now I ran into something very weird. After I got Breaking Ground I started a new game and at some point I decided to make a helicopter/drone using the new motors I watched some tutorials and then tried to do my own but I ran into something I find very weird. As I increased the torque the propellers did spin faster but no lift, only a lot of vibration. I then opened the debug tools and enabled display of aero forces. The weird thing I noticed was that as the propellers were spinning the lifting force kept alternating up and down instead of only being up. At some point I got one that worked ok but no clue how to do it again or what's wrong. I tried with Elevon 5, FAT-455 Aeroplane Control Surface and even a few wings with the same thing happening Also how can I add screenshots on this forum? I only found a button to Insert image from URL Any help is greatly appreciated!
