  1. I've been a KSP1 player off-and-on, and I'm frankly torn between several different aspects. On the one hand, KSP has a wonderful modding community that can take every aspect of the game and ramp it up to 20/10, and I'm looking forward to where they take the science, graphics, and building capabilities of this new chapter in KSP history. On another hand, KSP2 will bring built-in interstellar travel, alongside so many of the fantastic quirks of IRL space systems (before even factoring in the Kerbals' own quirks when visiting those space systems), so I'm excited to learn new things about how KSP2 models, reflects, and builds upon IRL science. I guess if I were to name a specific most-anticipated piece of KSP2, it'd be all the ways the devs and community can come together to craft whole new lessons on space and space travel. This also brings in one of, IMO, the biggest missed opportunities of KSP1, which would've been sprinkling more explicit learning into players' gameplay successes and failures. Maybe in achieving new in-game heights the game system can drop lessons about IRL phenomena or achievements instead of simply handing the player a steam trophy. This is the sort of game that could truly benefit from such a feature, especially with how much real science is going into it that the casual player would never otherwise know is based on fact or near-future speculation.
  2. Not sure about whether there's going to be flora in the ground scatter on various planets, but I have some examples of real-life fungi that can be used as inspiration for in-game fungi that could fit with the feel of ksp. They came up in an unrelated discussion in which I mistook an image from a mod dev for a ksp 2 image, but I figured I'd post them here so the devs can have an easier time coming up with interesting otherworldly flora if they're looking to do so. Here's a link to a whole library of images: https://www.boredpanda.com/mushroom-photography/
  3. It kinda sucks, having to wait for updates to release before the devs can work on kopernicus. I wonder if there's a future possibility for the game devs to work with devs of integral version-locked mods like this one (there aren't really any others that come to mind, though) so that mods like this one can update even a little sooner than they already do. The couple weeks of waiting isn't too bad, but it would improve quality of life for the mod devs who then have to deal with less nagging over updates, for the devs of mods dependent on mods like kopernicus, and for the antsy players who want to immediately pack their newly-updated games with crazy mods, to be able to release things a little sooner. Even if it isn't straight up showing mod devs the code, giving them a heads up of any major changes in the coding (like the Unity update, for example) may help expedite the process for the devs, who I assume are already short on time thanks to their daily lives. Just an open-ended thought, though.
