  1. Seemingly suffering the same problem.  When I hit 'C' on a probe-only craft it entered the control room.  When I hit 'C' again I got a view of space that I could not manipulate _at_ _all_.  Zoom In to find the craft?  Nope.  Right-button drag to move the point of view?  Nope.  Those are all of the details I have, it was late and I've slept since then.

  2. This is brilliant!

Just reporting, not complaining.  I built a craft consisting of (bottom to top) the Z-4k Rechargeable Battery Pack, the RC-L01 Remote Guidance Unit, a TMA-1 Orb (w/ Jeb and Bill), a Small centrifugeal Habitat [sic], and a PA-Z0650 Small Centrifuge (containing mod below).  I launched this and hit 'C'.  It switched to an IVA!  I hit 'Y' to unbuckle and fell through the ground into the void below.

Relaunch, 'transfer crew' Jeb to the Small centrifugeal Habitat, and I hit 'C'; it had an IVA!  I hit 'Y' and fell through the ground into the void below.

Sensing a nascent pattern, I came here to give congratulations, kudos, and a report. :)

    Parts mod referenced above:
[1.12.x] Tokamak Industries Refurbished Parts (Featuring Porkjet's hab pack) - Major Update

This mod is a keeper. ;)  Thanks.

  3. For stuff you can't figure out how to make passthrough stuff work:

Display 2 seconds of darkness indicating traversal of the space.  In addition, display in green text upon the screen: "It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue." ;)

  4. Liked the sound effects.  The TAKDIS front doors point North instead of South when launched, however, and face the flag in the VAB rather than the default (it appears rotated 180 degrees?).  Reaction wheels are big enough to stand it up on Kerbin, and I prefer flying it with Yaw, Pitch, Roll turned off and just Front/Back, Left/Right, Up/Down turned on in the RCS extra controls.  I don't know if you can set it up like that or if I need to change them every time in the VAB / while flying.

Along the same lines, Driving K9 around tips him over with SAS on.  I set the associated mode to SAS-Only (I think?) and that makes driving him much easier.

This mod is a blast!  Though it makes career mode ridiculously simple.  Also, on Mun, a Kerbal just bumping into it sends it skittering away from the point of impact.  Could the bottom have more friction / the craft have more weight to reduce that a bit?  Would there be negative results from a heavier TAKDIS?

Idea for enhancement - if you can, scan the directory and play any .ogg files in order (or, randomized).  That'll be a real jukebox! :)

  6. Basically you have to avoid filenames that are also device names, and from back in the DOS days the standard device names are, um, NUL(L), PR(I)N(TER), CON(SOLE), COM(1,2,3,4), you get the drill.  The parts in parenthesis above are explanatory only and have no true part in the limitation.  LPT?  Line Printer, that one, too, IIRC.  Accidentally create a file named NUL and watch the hilarity ensue!  :v/

If you do decide to keep the IATA three letter codes, maybe prepend filenames with IATA_?  A suggestion, not a request.

I have downloaded this, RSS, a bit more, and started a new career.  Other than discovering my own ineptitude at RSS career mode I've had no untoward surprises.

One question, though:  KK has a setting whether or not "new" launch sites must be discovered/landed at before you can use them.  Do your airports fall under that setting?  (I am _really_ inept at RSS career mode.)

  7. I hope that links outside are allowed.  Good thing my posts are still under review, I'll find out soon If they are.

First, there's the data spec link:

    http://wiki.flightgear.org/File_Formats#apt.dat_file

Then there's the actual download link, scroll down to the Download Scenery section:

    https://www.flightgear.org/download/

With the above, your greater licensing knowledge, and the availability of the source code I'm sure it could be figured out how to a) get their scenery and b) parse out the airports from it.  I'll keep Bing-ing a bit to see if I can find an earlier source of their airport data so maybe _all_ of the scenery won't have to be downloaded.

I'm a developer, but behind closed doors in a firewalled GIS data shop, so I don't know too much about Creative Commons, MIT, etc. licensing but I do do c# for a living, and I know how to write geographic data converters if you need.  You might also be interested in the GIS related "proj4" project, started in FORTRAN and brought forward.  It does data conversions between real-world Earth-based coordinate systems, of which there are many indeed.

There's some valuable discussion on this page regarding apt.dat (airport data) and rendering the data in that into the scenery mesh, along with a ref to a Linux tool, terragear:

  8. Quick question:  If I'm showing DSN range in Map view (possibly only from Tracking Station?  I don't remember) and dip below the plane of the ecliptic then the colored range circles move off of Kerbin and instead center on a point in space roughly two or three planetary radii away.  Is this expected behavior?  Anybody else have this happening?  Thanks!

And, for others, when I moved to KSP 1.9.1 and upgraded the mod the aforementioned problem disappeared.

    Thanks!
