I put 6 of them around my capsule on every ship I make. In orbit around Kerbin, after I have placed my satellites and stations and stuff, I disconnect from the main body of my ship and use the sepatrons for a de-orbit burn. Then, I land with my parachute. Role-playing, ya know?

Given that we cannot land, in the traditional sense, on the gas giant, could there be parts that let buoyancy take over and float our craft in mid air? I am imagining coming in, deploying chutes and then deploying large balloons that are good for floating on water and suspending yourself in a very thick atmosphere.
