I was wanting to get a hold of the A model (I live in the U.S.A.) but when I go to the distributors websites they only seem to have the B model, anybody else have this problem? Maybe they are waiting until they can actually have them in stock before they advertise the A model? I really want the A model to make a MAME for my friends (networking not required) as well as some remote device plans (consumes less power).

Well I will refer you to here to see what you can do, but there are many more ideas that have yet to be thought of. In a basic nutshell its a $25 computer that you can program to pretty much anything you want (limited to the hardware of course). It has GPIO pins basically output pins for programmable to do different things such as run gps, motors, other items as well as USB but the biggest selling point is the price point of $25 allowing these cheap computers to be used in education (Its the main purpose of the Raspberry Foundation) to low income areas such as Africa. That\'s a rough general explanation but I think you should get the general idea.

I have been waiting to get my hands on one of these for a while (waiting on backorder) and I was curious if there were any other pi owners out there or a tinker/hacker of things. I have a few projects that I intend to make with these little things ranging from home automation to hand held devices that can have a lot of use (gps, sat weather, network testing, exc...). I also tinker with my arduino and make little toys (more or less Haha) entertaining myself. Anybody else have have plans to purchase and complete some projects for fun or actual useful purposes? I know blizzard will release a quality game, its blizzard. It is just aggravating to wait on servers for a single player game, thats all. I have been having fun playing with my buddies. Right now I am waiting for the servers to restart, only reason I am here right now, haha.

I currently use and love G+, I just wish more of my friends used it...

I have the fx 8120 and 6100. The 8120 I cannot do much to it now because it has the stock fan, been saving up for a nice water cooling system. The 6100 has a good price point and enough room for oc, I currently have a profile set up to oc to 3.8 stable (stock fan once again) and currently the biggest constraining item on my computers are the hard drives, which I am saving up money and waiting for the price to drop further before getting a ssd. A buddy of mine is about to put one together (I am telling him what to buy and help him basically) and I am telling him to get the 4100 and help him oc it a little, but the great thing about the 4100 is the performance/price ratio and my personal favorite, 95W power.

The FX series are not that much more really, and its a little bit more flexible.

I am currently going to college and I mainly use facebook to see what my other friends are doing (I was in the military and a bunch of my friends from there are from very different places) and I don\'t even use it for college. I follow my school on fb but they post stupid crap that nobody cares about such as trivia. I understand why other people use it for college but I just follow the schedules that my teacher gives me which outlines quizzes, tests, exc... The thing that set me off was my sister had a minor operation (I don\'t have the closest family) and I did not know about it until a month and a half later when facebook decided that it should show up in my feed. Like I said I expect something like this to simply work like it should, not give me the bs run around for their own personal gain. Also I check fb mainly on my smart phone because it is more convenient and half the time the mobile site will not work correctly, and I gave up on the app because it will not load correctly either. I know I am on a temporary rant but I am about to stop putting myself out there expecting something that will never come...

@amram I understand all of that because I do read the terms of agreement. All of that does not bother me as much as it should be a functioning website, which I feel it is not.

That is exactly the problem, all I should dedicate is like 5 mins just to read what my friends post, but no I have missed more news items than I care to mention just because fb thinks it knows what I want to read, instead I have to click on my friends accounts just to see what has been said and that 5 mins turns into an hour... I am just really P\'d off about it and I\'m about tired of fighting it. I don\'t play games or spend stupid time on it, I use it for news and short reading of my friends and other ppl I choose to follow.

The clock is ticking closer to midnight for me to delete my facebook account for the simple reason I am tired of having facebook tell me what I want to read and not display everything in chronological order. Anyone else getting tired of facebook or is it just me?

This is the reason I do not buy Intel. Most people probably won\'t care or think about this kind of stuff but I do, and I still feel that Intel is just doing it again.

I was going to get a SSD but I am going to wait thanks to the new technology that will basically make SSD\'s obsolete.

Not to brag, but I just got done with my last test. DONE. For this semester...

Sometimes I would have to hurry up and put that command in when I would forget something else before restart, I usually won. This was on old Windows OS (ie mem 2000 xp) and when I would go brew coffee waiting on restarting, the good old days you were penalized for restarting ;P

I can\'t wait to say that, 2 more years of school to go in Information Assurance.

I wish I had papers, finals week this week, and in two of my classes the final is 60% of the grade... ugh

Its not the safest in the world, but I use the built in browser (HTC Evo 4g/Gingerbread 2.3) simply because the other browsers would have issues loading websites (not necessarily this one) where as the regular browser seems to work with just about every site I go to (full site, not mobile). If I had a better phone I would use chrome in a heart beat, but at last I am broke and I have to wait for some time before I can get one of these new cool phones with ICS.

I can feel you how bad that 4670 is, I upgraded from the 4850 in Jan and I didn\'t realize how badly I needed to upgrade until afterwards. I think you might not realize how far graphics have come since 2008 until then, because I didn\'t, Haha. It will be night and day.

You can easily get ddr3 ram @ 8gb (1600) for $40 easily. So if you wanted just 4gb you can get the cheaper graphic card and 4gb of ram for the same price. [Edit] I got my wife the 1gb (same card) and it plays games maxed out pretty good and she does some video editing stuff too and she claims it works like a champ.
