  1. This is one of those really simple really excellent mods that fixes a big whole in the stock game. I would love to see this mod expanded with an option to only deploy parachutes when safe (or when risky depending on some toggle). So you stage the parachutes and then they don't deploy until they are in atmosphere and won't shred themselves. This would make landings with RemoteTech probes a lot less painful.
  2. As a prefix: This is a very small detail, and one that can be changed locally quite easily. However, I think it's worth addressing at some point. The BZ-52 radial attachment point currently costs 1250. Nearly identical (but more functional) Clamp-o-tron docking port of the same size costs 280 and the TT-38k Radial Decoupler is only 600. BZ-52 should probably be repriced lower than the Clampotron, at around 150 or 200. Or the docking port costs should go up dramatically. Currently they're a better deal than stack separators. The small hardpoint is similarly priced too high at 1275. A small version of the BZ-52 would be appreciated as well.
  3. I agree that Outsourced R&D is *way* out of balance for just about any scenario. At it's current rate, just the advance for Orbit Kerbin gives 98 science, and completing it gives 419. That's way more than you can get from orbiting all the early science parts. A 500:1 ratio would bring this more in line with what I'd expect it to do, a substantial increase in science at a substantial cost in funds. I don't think it should be set up so that cash heavy contracts are ever better for gathering science than science focused ones. Patent licensing should be altered as well to more reasonable levels. 1:300 seems pretty reasonable. I'm going to be avoiding them both until they're a bit more sane.
  4. I would like to add my strong opposition to kerbal experience changing thrust or isp in any way when a player is in control of the vessel. Other things like science yield and lab efficiency would be great. I would be very happy to see a kerbal autopilot system, where kerbals improve their plotting efficiency up to the level of the human player over time.
  5. The cupola module looks great and I want to put them everywhere on stations, but seems a bit heavy compared to other similar modules. Its mass at 4.54 makes it the highest of the command modules (the mk1-2 is only 4.12). It's less functional than similar pieces, the lander can weighs substantially less, but fits more kerbals and has stronger gyros. Glass is admittedly heavy, but it still seems like it's a bit overweight for an essentially cosmetic part.
  6. As a mod user but not yet creator, these are the features I'd find helpful in a mod repository: 1. The ability to subscribe to mods and have a single RSS feed that I can follow to see changes to any of my subscribed mods. The RSS feed is the really key bit there. 2. Version and compatibility information. 3. Some sort of search/rating/tagging system. A simple thumbs up or down is usually entirely worthless (sometimes worse than no rating system if the total number of voters is small), but some combination of tags/stars/numbers could be quite helpful.
