  1. No time for love. Desktop thread. I usually use Ubuntu 10.04 with a heavily modified (to remove lolbloat) GNOME 2, but at the moment I'm on my XP vidya gaymen rig. I usually manually cycle between around 200 or so wallpapers I have in a folder somewhere whenever I get bored of the current one. If asked, I'll post original, but I can't be arsed to right now, so here's my desktop. And yes, that's some rainmeter in there. Also WinAmp.
  2. I may have overreacted (several times), but after seeing the demo videos, I was so exited that I literally ran down to the nearest bus stop, took it, and arrived at FutureShop right as it was opening, just to buy Spore. I got the galactic edition, and excitement was had. I noticed that the pictures inside were a little cartoonish, but I thought that was avoidable, and I could have made neat creatures too. I got home, threw the CD in, installed, began to play, and within a few hours had beaten everything up to about halfway through the space stage. I then promptly ejected the disc, calmly placed it back into it's case, and opened the window. And then I threw the fucking thing out a second story window into the ditch on the other side of the road. Fuck. That. Shit. 'Twas the second biggest waste of money I have ever come across (the other being WoW), and this one I didn't even enjoy. Ah well. I made some neat spaceships, but that's about it.
  3. 'Twas about five years ago when I got around to trying out World of Warcraft. I wanted a 'Night Elf' sounding name, and went with Norinvaush or something, but then when I remade my druid, I just went with Norinvaux. Despite no longer playing WoW (due to it being a massive grindfest, though it's still an awesome game if you just don't level up and instead explore), I still use the name nearly everywhere I go. Aside from IRC, in which I use 'GuyWithAGuitah', 'ThisGuy', and 'ThatGuy'.
  4. Yeah, sometimes I'm a bit of a dick. Sorry about that, old chap. I'm fairly sure it's not a bug at all. As I said before, with the lack of sun, once you're going fast enough, and you're far enough away from the earth, gravity would not affect you at all. If the KSP simulator is accurate (which it probably isn't at the moment, being so new), then it could take weeks, if not months or years, of running the sim for the speed to decrease due to gravity. Actually, it might never decrease, as the farther away you get from Kearth, the longer gravity takes you slow you down, giving you more time to get farther away, etc. And as there is no air in space (aside from the occasional stray hydrogen atom whose effect is negligible) to cause resistance, unless you hit something you'll never slow down. Unless of course you're talking about the G-force meter breaking, in which case it is a legitimate bug, but OP didn't actually mention that until later on, and was referring to not slowing down, which is normal. My thoughts exactly, hence the low number of posts on my part. I'm only here for the mods, and the occasional good thread. I simply don't get along with the majority of people online, especially in a forum-like environment. Fixed that for you. ...Actually, considering it's summer, your original point seems to be most correct on the majority of boards. I feel hurt. No, not really. The profound lack of being missed is mutual. Reaching the age of maturity and asshattery are two entirely different concepts. Most adults remain asshats for the remainder of their lives, and I contend that a part of me will too. I'm not always a dick, I usually try to be helpful and nice both to the people I can stand and can not. Sometimes, however, I snap. Sorry about that, probably should have snapped somewhere else.
  5. [WARNING] Severe case of no sleep causing aspergers ahoy. Read at your own risk. [/WARNING] Woah, for a second I thought I was back in the minecraft forums. OP, one exclamation point is nearly always capable of fully expressing your feelings without the 12 year old added into the mix. And the mods you downloaded are broken as fuck, and rightfully so, as it's supposed to be a warp nacelle, which doesn't really fit into the rest of the game terribly well. Also, there is no moon as of yet, hence the lack of moon when you gaze into the kerbal's space, and nothing in any of your posts are a glitch. Due to there being to sun (yet, right now it is but a picture in the sky), once you escape Kearth's gravity, you will not slow down. Ever. Everything before this line I still agree with. Everything after this line is just me being an ass, sorry about that. On a side note, this isn't a blog. You don't need to 'Hi, me again' this and 'P.S.' that. It makes you sound like you don't belong, which you most likely don't. Come back in a month or so, when all the other 12 year olds have discovered KSP. By then this forum will be Minecraft Forums 2.0. Actually, I'm already not liking roughly 1/2 of the community. I guess I'm just not one for forums. Ah well, back to 4chan's /v/ /g/ /a/ and /tg/ for me.
  6. Seems you're doing it right, and yes, 600KM is Kearth's diameter according to the wiki. Also, I've decided to try and come out of orbit back onto the launch pad. May not work terribly well with only one tiny-ass engine left.
  7. Yeah, around there. I though it was fairly normal at the time. Too bad I didn't take a screenshot. Went around Kearth a few times, and it never deviated more than 8 or so meters. Speed was also constant all the way through. The orbit in my above post seems to be more elliptical, however, as it's now deviating quite a lot. I missed the maximum, but managed to catch it just as it was headed back down. I'm guessing the max was at around 204100 or so. Min coming up. Well shit, seems I missed the min too. Ah well. Moving a meter every 6 seconds or so, so I'm guessing I'm not all that far from the min in the above screenshot. So, max is around 204100, min is around 203700. Eccentricity is... I dunno. ...What's Kearth's diameter? The distance from the ground is measured in relation to Kearth's SURFACE, not the center of Kearth, so I can't just use the number I already have. Eccentricity is 0.0398290984. So, pretty high, actually. Shitty orbit. Look below for correct, looks like lack of sleep and general misunderstandings in the field lead to DERP on my part.
  8. I think I may have managed to get a similar orbit, though this time at around 203000 meters. Seems that every 20 seconds or so I move up or down a meter. I have yet to properly record anything, however, as I'm still in the beginning stages of the orbit. Screenshots: ...Wait, shit, looks like I'm slowing down slightly. Down .1 m/s. I may have gotten the math wrong, and this may be the wrong speed for this exact orbital height. Ah well, I'll see how it turns out. Hmm, seems I definitely miscalculated something at some point. Orbit is semi-elliptical, unlike my last near-perfect one. I guess it realyl was a fluke.
  9. I got ridiculously lucky on my first successful orbit. It was a medium/high orbit, somewhere around 80000 M, and I somehow managed, with little to no adjustments, to get an orbital deviation of ~8 meters. The orbit took a little under half an hour to complete (or was it a little over?), and over the entire course of the orbit the distance from Kearth only increased/decreased by one every couple minutes. A near perfect orbit. Sadly, at the time I thought it was normal and not insanely lucky, so I didn't bother taking any pictures. I've been trying to do it again, but it's been difficult, to say the least.
  10. Hmm, it looks like an iron cross while flying. ...Wait a minute. The Kermen are German? Kerman... German... Hmm. I think I'm on to something here.
  11. This version seems to be a little too powerful, might try it again with a nerfed version. I wonder if I can make it to the sun with this...
