I have just started KSP (shame, I know), enjoyed a lot of the trainings (until mun 1 which I find difficult). But...

I have just started a game in science mode, easy level, but I just cannot figure out how to get some progress.

I have the 3 first badges, I seem to have launched straight rockets and science things as high as I can and returned safely, but cannot find how to get more research points and tech progress.

I see no guideline or challenge indication, the tech I have access to is minimal and I have no clue what to do to improve. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Such complexities of the scientific mode only increase my curiosity and my interest in the game increases. It even reminds me of the events from the work "The Rogerian Argument" for which I recently wrote several essays https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/rogerian-argument/ There, the main character also encounters trumpets that he does not know how to solve, but from this his motivation only grows. So I don't quit my gameplay, but I still would like to make better progress, so I wanted to ask if someone could give me some advice.

    Many thanks.

Have you tried running multiple science experiments on each mission?

I never thought that on that evening in 2012 that a random game would eventually set me on a course to where I am now.  Now that we are upon the eve of KSP1's great adventure, I wanted to highlight how KSP has affected me.

I remember the first time I landed on the moon.  At first, I was stupefied and elated at finally - finally! - succeeding where I'd failed dozens of times before.  My lander parked beside me, I looked homeward to that beautiful blue and green marble - Kerbin.

I was introduced to Kerbal Space Program at the age of eight.  Over the course of the decade past, Kerbal has taught me the allure of spaceflight, from the celestial clockwork of orbital mechanics to the vast expanse of space.  Ever since I first launched my first rocket all those years ago, I have been captivated by spaceflight.

Kerbal taught me to love science, spaceflight, and engineering.  It also changed the course of my life immensely.  I will be attending college this year to pursue further education in physics and engineering.  It is my hope that one day I will fulfill my dream of working in astronautics – a dream inspired by Kerbal Space Program.

I’d like to extend my deepest thanks to the developers - the people who made Kerbal possible.  Kerbal never would be as it is today if not for your enthusiasm, care, and dedication to Kerbal and its community.

I’d also like to express my gratitude to the Kerbal community.  Your passion for space exploration, commitment to teaching others, and infinite creativity and innovation has truly made an impact on my life. Now that I'm in college and aspiring to become a good specialist in the future, I'm glad that I came across the Kerbal training materials a few years ago. When we had a task about writing a profile essay for https://samplius.com/essay-types/profile-essays/ I had no doubts about which curriculum I should write an essay. Many people can't find their calling and can't figure out what major to choose to study at college or university. I am happy that I know exactly what I want to study and it inspires me.

As a homage to KSP, I created a 10-minute long cinematic video montage.  Go check it out if you want!

(Moderators: please don't move this to Fan Works if you're considering it - the main point of this post is to talk about how KSP has influenced my life and give thanks, not the cinematic. :))

Wow! It's great when your favorite hobby is so life-changing. This year I will also go to college and I have chosen a faculty, but I am not sure that my specialty will be to my liking. And if you dream of studying those sciences that you like, then it will probably be easy for you to study.

This is his magnum opus.  The opening line of the first book may, arguably, be the greatest single opening line in history, including the one you're thinking of.

A good number (majority?) of his novels actually fall into the umbrella universe this series creates.   The first book is sometimes a hard read, as it's kind of an absurdist fever dream.   That is to say, when he first wrote it back in the 70's, he was quite chemically enhanced, and the rewrite pass he did in the 90's to tie up the loose ends did help, but it's still a fever dream.   Power through the weirdness of the first book, and the second, while equally weird, is far less absurdist.     Which is saying a lot, because maybe a couple hours in to the 5th (?) book this read (listen) through, I said aloud "Ok, now _this_ is where this story gets weird."   And that wasn't referring to

the demonic Thomas the Tank Engine, Talking Dog, Wizard of Oz, The author as a 3rd person character, or Harry Potter.

I saw that recently when I picked up my "North Central Positronics" t-shirt.

But this series does have the greatest cliffhanger ending of a book of all time.    And I do prefer the original ending to the series over the fan requested added ending he wrote, although

He then had an unusual power of writing in different chapters, the plot could develop either sequentially or absolutely chaotically and illogically. I remember when I studied the essays of a serial killer at https://paperap.com/free-papers/serial-killer/ the writing style of some articles also coincided with what we see in the first book. And although the reviews about it are very controversial, I think that in the future this book will become a classic and the first original editions will be appreciated by collectors.

The loop bringing Roland back to the desert as the first and last sentence of the story is epic.

Seriously, don't read that spoiler if you haven't read the story.

I couldn't read the first book, I don't know why, but I don't have the patience. Although perhaps in the future it will be more appreciated.

this was linked on one of my feeds. free online book that covers a lot of video game maths. useful for anyone going into game dev. wish i had this thing handy when i wrote my game engine.

This idea first came up when I wanted to make a game about literary characters from a school program that the teacher would like and I got a good grade. There were no problems with the description of the terms of reference for the game based on examples of 12 essays about angry men https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/12-angry-men/ I collected the entire theoretical part. But with the choice of frameworks and technologies, I had problems. Therefore, I decided to write my game from the beginning by creating my own technologies.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'm currently choosing a specialization and I think that game development is the most interesting job, so it's worth learning exactly this.

Reputation is weird, in that it has a very large dose of diminishing returns. To see this in action, bring up the cheat menu and add 100 reputation- your overall reputation won't go up by 100 unless you're at 0 or below. Now add another 100 and it'll go up by even less, and so on. But if you remove 100 reputation, you'll see that it goes down much faster and at high reputation levels it'll take an awful lot of +100s to cancel out one -100.

What you're seeing with these contracts might just be the way the modifiers are being applied: if you're gaining 2 reputation but then the strategy removes 80% of that, I suspect that the game first credits you with 2 reputation and then removes 1.6; it's just that due to the diminishing returns, the +2 added a lot less than 2 but the 1.6 wasn't subject to diminishing returns and so got removed right away, producing the net loss of 1 (and possibly an invisible decimal that you'd only see in the save file or cheat menu) reputation. For funds and science there's no issue since those two are linear, but reputation is the odd one out and so it behaves a bit strangely.

My advice is, don't use that strategy at all. While reputation isn't all that useful, you still need some to get the 2 and 3 star contracts to show up and frittering it away to get tiny science gains isn't worth it.

(P.S. this is just my hypothesis, I don't actually know if this is how these strategies work- so unless someone shows up with actual implementation knowledge to confirm, don't quote me on it!) After all, there is a risk that in my theory I may be wrong and the use of research can still lead to an excellent result, and my experience was erroneous. I felt something similar when I wrote personal ethical dilemma essay examples for https://papersowl.com/examples/ethical-dilemma/ It's very hard to give repurposed bovine waste advice. On the ethical side, I understand that many people can pass them on to each other, and if I make a mistake, then others will make it, and I would not want the result to be like that.

Thanks for the advice! I also could not understand how to properly use the research strategy. I thought that I was making some kind of mistake, now I understand that this is not effective.

Really? I paid for Kerbal Space Program with the promise that all future content would be included.

But it looks like, if I want to access the future content you are creating, I will have to pay for the game again. This is pretty dishonest behavior from a publisher. And it's not in line with your original vision for the game.  Early adopters of KSP should be given the content you are developing.

Not cool to just slap a "2" on your new expansions and pretend it's something different for money.

Game publishers make money from them, and they unfortunately have to do so. After all, it depends on how well they will make updates. Fans are waiting for quality updates.

I keep reading that this may be related to RAM/memory usage, causing the program to crash because it's either taking too much memory OR your machine doesn't have enough RAM to handle the processing.  I've also seen where it could be a compatibility issue, and that you may need to run compatibility troubleshooter and update the compatibility settings (I think the best trick is to actually downgrade compatibility to Windows 8).

I also think that the problem may be due to the use of the entire amount of RAM. I wonder if the hard disk memory was used. Using the similarity checker https://fixgerald.com/ I wrote a similar article when I was looking for a solution to this problem. The easiest way is to use the hard disk swap file. Otherwise, there will be an error when writing to RAM.
