CPU underutilization after patch
GizmoMagui replied to 2old4games's topic in KSP2 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
yep i get about CPU AMD 5950x 5.0hrz: 4% to 7% Ram Gskill 64g 3200hrz : 2.7% pegged Rog strix TI/OC/WE 3090ti: 100% this is not optimized yet and CPU as well as RAM and M.2/HDD/SSD drive is no joke Null. Side note: Network from KSP2 has sent out 17.5gb of data over the NET (odd) more then discord and i stream and chat on it none stop haha and also more then Steam out of all the years of playing and making videogames i have NEVER see a game just run pure GPU only. -
Says Nvidia asking for permission to allow it to record desktop because it does not see the game as a game but as a program and is somehow not a bug? [snip]
-
if u run the game from steam right click "properties" and in side the General tab you'll see "Launch Options" below that u put in " -popupwindow " this makes window mode true borderless and does not stretch the game to fullscreen so u can have any size u want on screen. because i run this on my TV i do not need full 55" of it lol while my native res is 3840x2160 i set ALL OF MY GAMES to 3840x1620 borderless and move them to the top of the TV, thus having room down below for other apps thats because its fitting to your screen silly no matter what res u pick borderless will always stretch it to fit your screen. most borderless in other game does not do this they fill up the screen to what ever res you have given it. but KSP2 stretches to always be fullscreen. it records only the game because Nvidia is seeing it as a game and not a program

yeah i updated my post. like yes OBS can do HDR and u might even have more controls over it with LUT's... i just prefer Nvidia cuz of the quality it can bring. its not real borderless... choose any res and it send it into fullscreen stretching it thus u can end up with black bars not the window size.... turn on privacy settings for Nvidia Alt -Z prevents Nvidia from recording windows 10/11 things and notifications. so its not SEEing the game as a game but rather a program. and thus it wants me to turn OFF privacy settings. But again if I do this all my desktop icons will show up in the video. because i do not run the game fullscreen as in, it does not fit my screen it fits half of it while the lower half is other programs and apps easy enough to tab in and out. But again Nvidia does not see the game but rather seeing it as a program...

i use OBS for streams not recording cuz the quality is worse as well it does not support HDR as well, i use Nvidia for recording and no edits after pure file gets uploaded. edit: while it can do HDR its not worth it. Nvidia is just overall better with its encoder

all recording software can and will record this is fine but there is a fault within how its depicting game window. Nvidia has a privacy setting to enable the user if they wish to record desktop or not. The game will not record and it will end up record my desktop as well as the game. The problem is i do not want to record my desktop therefore there is a bug where i can't record without it prompting me to record my desktop. side note: fullscreen, borderless, window all ask for permission to record desktop. ( i do not) side side note: if i go into the BOOT file and change (wait-for-native-debugger= from a 0 to a 1) and apply this im able to record fullscreen without it asking to record desktop. but all other modes this does not help borderless or window and keeps asking to record desktop while i do not want to. conclusion: the whole windows game setup for the game itself is wrong or bad or cheap and should be addressed. what i want: to be able to record the game in all types of resolutions with borderless or window mode enabled without recording my desktop or prompting to ask permission to record desktop

Asking a Question.....about Borderless
GizmoMagui replied to GizmoMagui's topic in KSP2 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
yep it seems that way. even tho u can do this popupwindow command there is still a problem with this. with both window mode and borderless mode. all recording software records the whole desktop and does not see the game as a game. or program. like Nvidia recording has a setting to prevent the software from recording the desktop. while this so called GAME.. is in borderless more or window mode u can not record unless u grant Nvidia to also record the desktop and this is the biggest problem. what ever they did was done so badly or cheaply that it does not act as a running program once in borderless/windowed modes Even fullscreen had a problem of it not wanting to record till i changed a single setting in one of the files. under (KSP2_x64_Data folder Config boot) funny enough changing (wait-for-native-debugger=0 from a 0 to a 1) some how fixed it to where now fullscreen will record the game while in fullscreen and will no longer ask you to allow it to record desktop. strange i know. ITS ALL OUT OF WHACK!!! so now i have to make a NEW post. trying to get the game to RECORD without asking permission to record my desktop... -
Asking a Question.....about Borderless
GizmoMagui replied to GizmoMagui's topic in KSP2 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
i'v done this no matter what trick i do. borderless mode is always fullscreen and just adds black bars. i already know how to move the window i have tools for that. the messed up part is i don't think anyone can fix this problem its all on them -
Asking a Question.....about Borderless
GizmoMagui replied to GizmoMagui's topic in KSP2 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
this does not work.. im after making the window not fullscreen stated in this post here ^ -
thats the biggest problem i run this on my (LG A1 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV) i dont want the game to go fullscreen because i leave up other programs on screen. like OBS/chat or other programs music or anything else. The game regardless of what tool you use it goes FULLSCREEN i have other tools that allows me to move around borderless windows so i can move the game on top of the TV while leaving space below for other apps. But the problem is the borderless mode goes fullscreen. there are other games i have played once u put a game in borderless mode u can set a custom res you want. It will only be that size it does not go fullscreen. I use a TV screen acting as if its more then one screen by placing apps into windows frames. while i have a 2nd pc to run other apps its cheaper to run just one screen. i'v asked the Devs about changing this but sadly no response. so from the start i have been fighting the game borderless mode and trying to find a way to STOP it from going FULLSCREEN.. but no luck Native Resolution : 3840x2160 what i want Custom Resolution : 3840x1620 Making the screen ultrawide but moving it to the top of the screen to have programs down below while able to click in and out of the game on the fly but again i can't do this because they locked it to fullscreen. Only making it bad for streamers and multitaskers.
-
yes u can set a custom res but borderless still goes Fullscreen, meaning it gives black bars i already tested Steam configs as well other config to try and force it to be borderless without it being fullscreen. None have worked its still acts as fullscreen even if its set to borderless. on top of all this BS with how they have it setup is Nvidia can't record the game while in window mode or borderless mode without it asking to record desktop as well. so there is 3 big problems how they have this setup 1, its not good for streamers because you cant set custom res without the game being locked to fullscreen unless u play in window mode wish is stupid cuz now u have to edit OBS window to cut off the borders 2 borderless mode locks to fit screen when you dont want it to 3 Nvidia privet settings does not see the game while in window/borderless mode and forces you to record desktop when you don't want it to... when u make a smaller window does it show black bars? or does it show your background of the desktop?

i don't need to flex i leave that for the children of the Korn. But i see now not everyone gets the jokes and some more then others have to explain it in better detail so they too understand. -

if u kept reading u would of seen the line while my PC seems safe enough with its Temps. it might not be for everyone so take my input with a big grain of salt and happy gaming.. and good luck because you'll need it while it melts your GPU keyword here "your" not mine lol its as if no one knows what sarcasm is anymore haha now why would i make such a claim? 1, check computers cuz some people just don't clean haha 2, its always wise to check every few months 3 wouldn't it be so kind as if someone warned them ahead of time before processing buying or playing this game? give them a warning that this game is GPU dependent and will peg your GPU to 100% load? (no matter the card) wouldn't this be a nice thing to know? Also i didn't know Dell was still making Alienware haha (sarcasm) would not matter of the brand name anyways cuz everyone gets the same chips from only a few companies so its best to follow the chipsets rather then brands haha (cuz we smarter) this is why i got the White Edition 3090ti Rog Strix Oc cuz it has the better chips for power draw and much more. didn't care for the ring u get or the top corner plate i only cared it was white as well best chips for its price point. didn't care for the brand name cuz again that be silly to follow brands and logos. oh and almost forgot i also got this one cuz i plan on doing SLI for it so im getting a 2nd one here shortly yay me. anyways, good luck be safe have fun.... -
