I reported this to support along with a screenshot and video clip. It's good to know about the 'V', I'll try that later. Maybe the code should have some sort of hysteresis condition so that it switches to surface under a certain threshold that is lower than when it switches to orbit. Perhaps that's already in place but the difference between the two thresholds isn't sufficiently large.
