  1. 0.16 is getting closer! EDIT: Having looked at only the announcement threads and not the development threads, my comment about how there\'s little information out on 0.16 is deleted as it is no longer valid. Instead of focusing on what to expect, which can be read on the forums (thanks for bringing that to my attention:) The new focus is on stuff to wish for. There are a lot of features that would make me excited, and just the idea of a multiplayer-bit in the far future makes me salivate. What kind of features would you like to see? (0.16, 0.17, 0.18...) My own wishlist right now would be 1: A visual/sound effect as my spaceship/plane passes mach 1 2: Mun mining equipment (mining for fuel or precious metals for new parts?) 3: A way to mark a coordinate on a planet or moon, to be shown on the gyro-ball-thing for easier navigation to the base/arc you want to land close to 4: parts for making my own cars/rovers 5: a water effect when flying close to the water with afterburners on XD What\'s your wishlist, and what do you expect from 0.16?
  2. Awesome man! if you have pictures of those rockets, i\'d love to see! here\'s a celebratory video (not from KSP, but from the beginnings of actual spaceflight) http://www.redorbit.com/news/video/space_2/1112648585/kennedy-space-center-50th-anniversary-video/
  3. This year, 2012, the Kennedy Space Centre is 50 years. The Kerbal Space Centre, while still in it\'s infancy, because of the creative spaceship designers and the daring and bold(?) astronauts have done things during it\'s 1st year (forums are just over 1 year old now) that goes far beyond what the people at Kennedy Space Centre dreamed about 50 years ago. In celebration of space exploration, crazy ideas and science, please post a picture, video or description of your grandest achievement so far, to celebrate astronauts, kerbalnauts, and everyone who has contributed to the fact that space, both digital and not, is fu*king awesome! For science, moar thrusters, and the dreams of multiplayer. *raise glass*
  4. MrMoog. That was friggin epic. Do you have fraps?
  5. What about someone making a trailer for KSP, showcasing the game, showcasing the things that are possible with mods, and post it on youtube as: 'E3 showcase: Kerbal Space Program'?
  6. Hi guys! Are you ready for The Kerbin Sattelite Retrieval Challenge? Easy as pie, it is. Using (hopefully) no more than two (2) crews total, not only must you put a sattelite in orbit around Kerbin, but you will have to bring it down again. The challenge is scored on an easy system, so by showing screenshots, or even better, a mission video, we can all revel in the awesomeness of the objectively most awesome astronauts and engineers Kerbin can muster. Here\'s the scoring: 1 point for putting a sattelite in orbit. 1 point for getting the sattelite back to Kerbin. (on a separate launch) 1 point for not killing more than 6 astronauts. (2 crews) 5 points for only using 3 astronauts (1 crew) 5 points for bringing down the sattelite less than 1 km from KSA 10 points for bringing the sattelite down to Kerbin in one piece (as in: not explode) 1 point for screenshots OR 2 points for mission video Post your story/pictures/mission video and your score here. Can you manage 20 or more points, and have your astronauts join the elitest of the elite? P.S. Mods are fully allowed, but if you want to use a radio controlled ship, you must first use your astronauts for comsat-deployment. P.P.S. Initial deployment of sattelite MUST be done by astronauts. P.P.P.S. Be creative and resourceful when it comes to bringing down a sattelite in one piece. Using robot claws are encouraged. Let the challenge begin! P.P.P.P.S. Feel free to post a message if you\'re embarking on the challenge, and to give feedback on whether or not it seems doable, too hard, too easy etc.
  7. Also, please don\'t hide the cursor in FRAPS (or whatever program you are using), as it is very helpful to follow the cursor around on screen, instead of not being sure what you click on Also, there is a tiny bit of noise, and your voice isn\'t as clear as it maybe could. If you could speak up just a little, that would help at least for us with headphones A tutorial on how you make the landing gear behave properly when opened, and how you define it to take damage when closed and landing, would be great. How do you, in Unity, tell the item to reverse the animation when activated again? Could you also give a step-by step on how to create a working sattelite? (A sattelite with a function, and an animation (solar panel expanding?). Can be as 'easy' as a blue box with a flat panel attached), and then show clips of it working in the game?
  8. It\'s not a problem getting all buttons to work, just download any version of 'Switchblade', a program designed to let people among other things, play wow easily with an xbox 360 controller. With the program you can map the controller so your computer recognizes the left stick as the mouse, the right trigger as left click, left trigger as space, left bumper as a modifier for a complete set of 4 buttons on A/B/X/Y and so on. I reccommend it alot. Been trying Call of duty on pc with it, and having a great time. Also, here is a setup i\'ve tested that suited me very well. LT/RT: Throttle. LB/RB: Roll Axis. Left Stick: Pitch/Yaw. Left Stick click down: Toggle SAS. Right Stick: Control Camera. Right Stick click down: Toggle camera mode. A: Landing gear up/down. B: Cut Throttle. X: Stage. Y: RCS Back: Toggle preciscion control.
