  1. VTOLs are pretty easy to build but require some trial and error to get the engines perfectly centered on the craft. For vertical take off I use no more than 2 jet engines because you can disable the one or both with a single click. Also the avionics sas is best imo because it alows for slight adjustments in pitch roll and yaw which help while hovering. While testing mine I disable the horizontal engine and slowly increase speed of the vertical engines until the craft starts to lift off the ground. I'm looking for the slowest climb possible because sometimes even a balanced vtol will pitch slightly during takeoff. Then enable sas and check for balance. If it pitches foward go back to the SPH and move the engines foward. If the craft pitches back then move the engines back. Keep adjusting untill it's balanced. I included a couple .craft files for you to look at.
  2. Taking off vertically holding hover for 10 sec landed at launch pad water landing (also like foursh, this should be proof of completely vertical landing) at KSC2. Tried landing at launch pad but crashed Slow 9 min climb to 500m while in EVA the entire time!!! This should serve as proof of both EVA and 500 m challenge Fuel Consumption at full throttle = 1 L/s Total Mass = 18.15 tons
  3. Like Colmo I have been working on my own dual rotor helicopter. Introducing the 'Sky Swimmer I' Be careful cause the yaw is inverted. You have been warned
  4. Awesome. I cant wait to see how she flies. but I am 1 hour into my testing of a extreme long range helicopter.
  5. I have released a new chopper. The AAC-1 which features much more realistic flight and better handling. Big thanks to Colmo for his tips which made this helicopter possible. Go easy on the throttle on take off because the nose likes to drag on runway but once in the air it flies great.
  6. Colmo, after studying your designs I have created a new chopper. Check it out tell me what you think. Just go easy on take off the nose likes to drag. But once in the air it flies perfect
  7. Your helicopters fly great GJ. I\'m going to be working on a new chopper taking some tips from yours.
  8. Very nice! I thought my design was good until flying these. GJ They handle amazing
  9. I tried really hard to get the banking down but I found it impossible. This is the best I could do and if you roll and pull up pitch it does as close the the same thing as I could accomplish. But like you said it flies really well and I consider that a win
  10. I managed to create a stable easy to fly chopper. I attach lasers to it and use it to clean up debris. I included the craft file
  11. Finally managed to create a stable helicopter.
  12. to orbit and back? been there done that. lol my challenged is to the mun and back.
  13. I\'m trying to take of from the runway with a spaceplane and go to the mun and back without ejecting any parts. Is it possible? maybe. I\'ve made it to the mun with my current design but not back. If i was a better pilot I think it could be done. I would like to see if anyone can do it. I\'ve attached my current design. maybe someone can do it with my craft or their own. Post any comments or achievements please.
  14. Just wanted to share a craft file with everyone. It\'s a rover I made 100% stock. I have had alot of fun with this the last 2 days. This craft will make it to mun or minmus easily. The image shown is the mechjeb version I have but the craft file attatched is stock parts. The image shown is the mechjeb version I have but the craft file attatched is stock parts.
