  1. Hi Toff, You are not alone. Only just installed Kerbal myself and my I\'m running on high octane enthusiasm rather than finely enigneered experience & knowledge ;D Apart from the obvious playing and exploding - I\'ve downloaded a couple of stock rockets that seem quite stable, but I also mess around adding / removing bits from these and this gives me something of a clue on how various bits interact. I\'ve already found that a rocket where things go wrong - usually indicated by a large explosion and loss of crew - can be made much better (or in some cases worse) by making small changes to the separation of various stages. I actually managed to get off the pad and out into space (notice I don\'t say \'orbit\') just with manual guidance .... without using the S.R.S. Of course my enthusiasm was sort lived when I realised I couldn\'t get back ! The one thing I have learnt so far is ..... .................... Put a big enough engine on it and even a brick can fly! Hi all

Thanks. I\'ve downloaded a couple of fairly small, stable craft to give me a good idea of how others are going about things and to get a look at craft that actually work . But also having fun experimenting with things that look a little odd or tend to go \'bang\' when stages separate ;D then working out how to tweak it to stop the bang. After that I\'ll actually try getting into a stable orbit! G.

    Hi all

Just a quick Hello to the forum. Total newbie here. Just installed Ver 0.15 and getting to grips with the basics - and I mean the \'very basics\'. I\'ve downloaded a few mods and got the JSGME mod manager installed (I\'ve used this on other games), but not actually activating any mods until I\'ve go the hang of most of the stock parts and how things work. Picking up lots of good tips on the forum, but still got lots of reading to do and probably some total newbie questions to be asked! Looking forward to seeing how KSP develops over the next few months. G.
