  1. Yeah full colour maps of celestial bodies would be nice.
  2. Use some SAS modules (not ASAS) throughout your ship. They should help stop the rolling.
  3. Alright I changed the rules to fully deployed chutes only. You can do partially deployed but its way to easy
  4. Wow I didn't realise it would be that easy. We are going to go with fully deployed chutes then. Good job on 12 though
  5. Jeb has challenged you to get a deployed parachute into space. Sure they are easy to take up but can you do it while the parachute is open? Even Jeb couldn't pull this off. (alive) He would sure be amazed to see an average kerbal like you pull off this challenge. OBJECTIVE: Get a deployed parachute above 70km. It must be fully deployed. You should deploy your parachutes after lift-off otherwise it doesn't work. Gain points with each fully deployed parachute you manage to get into space. RULES 1. Stock parts only. 2. Use the small parachute only. Not the new 0.16 parachute. You can use more than one if you want to. 3. The parachute must be FULLY deployed. You can do it partially deployed but its way too easy. 4. Make sure it gets above 70km so it's safely out of the atmosphere. 5. The parachute must not be destroyed during the whole flight. 6. To validate your completion of the challenge, take a screenshot or make a video of the parachute being above 70km. I wish you all good luck in this challenge, remember this is declared to be EXTREMELYHARD so you may get ragey with it. Good luck again. Leaderboard | Parachutes: 1. 6. Something saying how much Delta-V you have left in your current stage
  7. In this case, the satellite will be too big to replicate 5 times on the same craft. I'll try what olex said later though and see if that works
  8. I know the question sounds pretty simple but I want to launch them 72 degrees apart from each other in a 100km orbit above Kerbin. I don't know how to calculate the launch window for each satellite so thats why I'm asking you guys to help me out here!
  9. Can someone explain to me what this specific impulse means and how important it is to me as a rocket designer? I\'m just wondering what it does. And also tell me what the numbers mean aswell that are in the descriptions of the engines.
  10. Hmm having weight balance issues with the skycrane.. its doesnt like to stay upright even with an advanced SAS. I tried it without my rocket below it and here is the result. Anyone know a good way to counter this? I\'ve tried making counter weights on my rocket but it just generally slows the whole thing down. Also is anyone else having this problem?
  11. 4 km? Sweet. and sorry if this is a sort of noob question by the way ???
  12. Does anyone know the altitude of the highest point/mountain/peak/hill/areallyhighplace on the Mun is so I can get the lowest, safest orbit possible? It just means one less dead trio of kerbals. If I go lower than that otherwise I risk hitting something and Jeb would not be happy. Thanks 8)
  13. Yeah you get an orbit above Kerbin at around 100km to 150 km (at 90 degrees) and when you see the Mun rise over kerbin from orbit you burn your engines at till your apoapsis reaches that of the mun then it will come up the encounter thingy if that makes sense
  14. You know going 270 HDG rather than 90 HDG is inefficient because you have to fight the rotation of Kerbin? You can save fuel if you go 90 but I don\'t know if you get your encounter that way. I usually just get into a 100-150km orbit above Kerbin (going 90 HDG) and burn for the Mun when it rises over Kerbin. You do that till your apoapsis reaches the Muns orbit and you will get an encounter then you can land or do whatever.
  15. 300 m/s I couldn\'t take a picture of the engines off but I took a picture just before the 10 seconds
  16. Challenge accepted. Will post results later once I\'m finished
  17. Anyone know how to get to Minmus using the gravity assist without having to wait for a launch window? So I can just launch randomly get and get a fuel-efficient flight to Minmus?
