I have been having good success with Mechjeb in 1.0.2..... it just needs a slight tweak for the atmosphere as stateded above, but it is not too far off as is. I launched a monster of a rocket and it flipped over during the gravity turn. I tweaked on the settings and found a good setting with no flip over on any size rocket I have tried so far. Just in case you want to try, here are the settings I used: In the Ascent window: Angle of attack 5, uncheck corrective steering (no corrective steering) Under Edit Ascent Path in the Ascent window: Turn start 350m (yes very low), Final Flight Path 0, Turn Shape 50%. I'm going to experiment with Angle of Attack unchecked because the rockets flew well without it. I'm also going to try different things with all the settings, but the settings above seem to work so far. Landings on mun (no atmosphere) were perfect and exactly where I picked!

1.0.2 is working better than 1.0 for me. I landed really close to where I picked on the map. Just a little tweak for the new atmosphere would probably do the trick I think. I just used some of the ascent settings posted a few pages back and it launches good. I think 1.0.2 will have a good atmosphere for MechJeb. MechJeb is the most important mod that I run. I can't explore without it.

I haven't tried docking yet, but the things I've tried are working good. I really like the space plane autopilot. MechJeb is a game saver for me as I'm not really interested in learning everything manually. I just have fun thinking of & making space/air craft to fly different missions. MechJeb allows me to do this. Thanks to all involved.

[0.22.X] BobCat ind. Historical spacecraft thread

Araym, I'm having the same problem with another file I tried to DL from Spaceport. -
Are you talking about the graphics of the planet looking like giant squares? I have been getting some of those.

Could you post a craft file for this? I really enjoy the Bobcat stuff!

Maybe handy for Jool or Moho missions? -
Parachute Problem. Please Help.
Rodder37 replied to Rodder37's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I need to bump this. I really would like to know how to use parachutes to help with landing on planets, but I want them to deploy when I push a button. Even when I have them in a different stage, the stages just combine and the chutes deploy when I don't want them to. Photos of my build is in the post above. Thanks for any help provided. -
I love MechJeb. I figure if NASA can use computers, then I can use MechJeb. I love this thing! I am not a good pilot and MechJeb allows me to have fun. I play this game to relax and to explore. I think of ships to build and crazy missions to send the Kerbals to explore new planets and moons. If MechJeb was not here, then I would not be here. Thank you r4m0n!!

Parachute Problem. Please Help.
Rodder37 replied to Rodder37's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thanks for the replys. Here is a pic of how I have things situated. When stage #3 activates, it also activates stage #2.... I don't want stage #2 to activate until I hit the button. Thanks again for any help. *EDIT* Here's a link to a better pic: http://i.imgur.com/cb8yA.jpg -
I want to use parachutes on my lander, but I am having a problem with the chutes deploying at the wrong time. When building the ship, I separate the chute into it's own stage away from the rest of the lander parts so when it gets to the lander stage the chutes won't open until I hit the space bar to activate the next stage.....ot at least that is what I was hoping to do. Instead the lander stage activates and it also activates the parachute stage causing the chutes to deploy too early. I have even made a stage in between and put a strut or fuel tank there in hopes it would stop the process..... instead it activates all 3 stages and makes the chutes deploy. I want the stage change to stop before the parachute stage so I can activate them when I want. (I hope this all makes sence) Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Yes. You just get into sun orbit and the options will be there (where Mun & Minmus were). I just get into orbit, then when I'm on the dark side of Kerbin I go max throttle until my orbit gets past Minmus and then turns yellow indicatin sun orbit. I then warp until the yellow line turns blue. The planets will show up under the transfer button. Once transfered to the planet orbit, the moons for that planet will show up under the transfer button. The transfer button will only show the things in the orbit the ship is in....when in Kerbin orbit it will show Mun and Minmus, when in sun orbit it will show all the planets, when in Duna orbit it will show Ike...etc. The best way for me to get to the inner planets of Eve and Moho is to retro burn from sun orbit to an orbit between the Sun and the planet I want to go to.... it seems Mechjeb finds planets further out much easier than finding planets going closer to the sun from MechJeb's orbit......(I'm not sure this sentence made sence, but I hope you know what I mean).

Awesome! Worked like a charm! I landed on Eve with no problem (on a tiny island to test accuracy). It went full warp without blowing up while slowing. I went into Kerbol orbit, retro burned until my orbit was between Moho and Eve, then circlized (spelling), then I hit the trans to Eve button. It took a little while because Mechjeb is a perfectionst...LOL. I'm happy with it. Now I have to learn what the new buttons do.

I am having no problems transfering to the planets..... I just blow up from the warp issue. If there was a micro second between warp steps, I think it will work great..... I can put it to full warp and bring it down to 1X as fast as I can manually and not blow it up, but it will blow up going from full warp to 1X at the speed of MechJeb. I find it works pretty good by getting into orbit around Kerbin like you would to go to the moon, then when on the dark side go to pro grade and go 100% throttle until you see your orbit turn yellow and go as far out as you want the warp until the orbit turns green. Now you can see the planets instead on Mun/Minmus to transfer to.
