    canards are pretty effective in water, ive taken my ranger car from the early post and put canards under it like a hydrofoil and it sits on the water level like it was actually riding on top (till i actually pull up or down then it freaks out lol), but yeah like the last guy said going fast in water is one thing but never been able to enter or exit going faster then 30m/s lol. also i like lots of struts ;-p i like the looks and i like when you snap a part off and only the struts keep you rolling lol

    It's too easy to start rumors that end in dissapointment and more stress for the devs.

    respect, i understand. just saying thread says unofficial lol the whole point of the thread is speculation, otherwise what are we doing here? if someone ignorantly takes something here as fact the disappointment is on them not the Devs. figure long as no one here is trying to draw the attention of mods or devs to destract them from their job (aka asking for release date or release info), its just fans talking about whats coming (a forum)

    Like most i like to play with rovers but hate the limited gear and breaking but so far this is my most stable

    rover on kerbin, havnt tried to fly it anywhere yet but it can get around nicely in atmo and full gravity. (175m/s)

    When im going fast i use S to pull up on the nose with RSC this takes alot of the weight of the from gear and give you alot more speed and range without damage

    After arriving at the lake with more then half fuel left i decided to take it for a swim and cross the lake

    kk think i got this one within the rules tonight, used my craft for rescuing lost kerbins in atmo, burned at full throttle at less then 9km altitude just to prove no fuel bugs or anything and that it can easily reach that range if orbiting. anyways, rover is nothing special, just do a quick barrel roll to drop the rover and it deploys chutes and coast to the ground (all stock btw, can post .craft if anyone wants it)

    on mine my ship will climb to 5500ish as it dose a full loop and a half before rolling into position and gliding the opposite direction it started, depending on the direction it rolls seems to determine how far it goes, it with either start gliding at around 4k altitude or fall to around 3k and then glide but not go as far, but it will catch a glide no matter how poorly it launches and go far, just not always over 100k. it will also climb and dive for a few mins as it levels itself out, but its balance is perfect and the only time it hasnt landed itself is when it hit a mountain lol

    give it a shot if you got an hour to spare or just wanna redesign it http://www./?yd96wpcn2zy0b5w

    after its launch loop and its turning into its roll, if it turns to the north it will catch a glide at a higher altitude and go further, if it turns to the south it will not go as far lol

    managed to lose control and get it back a few times posting up a fair run 17.2k from the pad 37k ground distance traveled

    no i didnt cause my command pod didnt go anywhere so figured it wouldnt display an actual distance, after 100k i lost track, can try again but doubt ill ever get that stable a glide again lol

    edit: i take that back lol relaunch put me back in the same direction just falling a little faster, will see if i can post up something similar with a proper final distance

    Okay so i can only take so much credit for a ridiculous flight lol after many designs doing epic circle or just going straight up i rebuilt the posters craft and started playing with it, after flipping the front swept wings around and tilting them up slightly to encourage gliding and adding a few advanced canards to the rear i got a craft that likes to glide if it gets launched right. few random flights later i got a perfect turn into a glide that laster over an hour and took me beyond 100k where it stoped displaying and i glided for another 10 mins.

    Landing was the best part and easily worth the hour 14 min wait lol, but again not my original design and the glide was pretty lucky lol

    Figured i would post up something i finished tonight, idea started from the ARC challenge to land a rover on minimus and slowly just got off track lol.

    All stock heavy lander/rover, has tons of fuel cause i cant fly efficiently, can easily get to either moon.

    easy to fly and stable at all stages, i like to run it around 20 m/s to keep everything from going crazy when you hit a bump, easily capable of more and enough fuel to return though the 3 chutes are more for aesthetic cause it jsut rips the command pod off the rest of the rover lol, safe landing just not for the rest of the unit.

    so you can prolly tell i have a thing for struts to lol, make it nice and strong though, ive broken off a tank with the gear on it and had it just bounce around with the struts holding it in place.

    once you do a standard landing just activate RCS and press W with a light thrust to the engines to tip forward (to make sure RCS lets you turn in the right direction), and then just raise the rear landing gear. if you land on the wrong side RCS will steer the wrong direction, just figure out which keys work and your good to go lol.
