  1. Are there any mods which provide a nose cone for the Mk2 parts? In trying to make a Skylon equivalent, I noticed that a nose formed of current parts is heavier (and uglier) than using the Mk2 cockpit. Would anyone be able to design a Mk2 nose cone containing LFO or LF?
  2. Yea, you can change the BCLK, but that's not easy, not normally advised and gives only a slight boost anyway. Don't assume you need to watercool though; on Intel's latest chips up to around 4.2GHz is fine with just air. I guess you'll have to just wait and hope for any physics optimisation the devs can manage. In the meantime, efficiency of launch vehicles and orbital construction are the only ways to reduce the size of the massive launch systems that cause you so much lag.
  3. Rosco, what motherboard are you running? Your CPU doesn't have an unlocked multiplier, but if you have a motherboard with the Z75 or Z77 chipset, then you can overclock the CPU by up to 4 bins (.4GHz). This should give a performance increase of about 12%.
  4. Not to mention the patched-conics map view, which makes intercepting and landing on the Mun far more easy and enjoyable.
  5. The prebuilt ships shouldn't be great ships. They should be good enough for the new players to get started but not so capable as to disuade people from creating their own ships, what I would say is the core feature of this game. A competition to create these ships would make them far to efficient for this. Ideas like crossfeeding improve payload-to-orbit, but these should be slowly introduced after the player has learnt basic controls, orbital mechanics and staging. As always, these are just my opinions and I defer to the devs if they have their own views.
