  1. I\'m going to bet you will find 5-10 active processes. Several hundred files outside of browser cache files will be infected. Several THOUSAND files in the browser cache will be infected. System restore will be compromised by the virus and will restore any removed viruses.
  2. Why does your university have 1000 dead gerbils?
  3. Phone lines (POTS) run on a DC system completely separate to the AC that powers your house. At max, it transmits 48volts (when it\'s ringing). In the early days, the phones themselves provided all the power needed to make the system run. Now we have automatic switching gear that keeps things going. These switches are highly redundant and have backup power supplies to conform with 911 regulations. The only way to knock out POTS in most situations is to cut the cable going to the house. If the phones are out for any other reasons, you have MUCH worse problems then dead phone lines. Like perhaps a tornado, hurricane, major earthquake, or your entire city is flooding.
  4. Why not put the ice in a plastic bag? then it won\'t leak or ruin the cardboard.
  5. DCS does. If you forget to turn on your oxygen mask and pressurize your cockpit, then fly around at about 25k feet. You get tunnel vision, the plane gets hard to control, and you start seeing double/triple/quadruple. Eventually you just kinda fall from the sky due to being unable to see and 'wake up' at about 10k feet heading straight down. good times. ;P
  6. I have been hooked on DCS: A-10C lately. I like that the buttons and switches actually do things in the plane. I\'ve worked out flying for the most part, now i just need to learn to target and drop bombs (A smart bomb is only as smart as the guy programming it. I might as well be using dumb bombs with my failures lately LOL) I\'d love to do some multiplayer hijinks if anyone else is up for some not so serious fun. I\'ve never actually flown a plane, but the aerodynamic model seems quite accurate. They even simulate hypoxia.
  7. Now I just did a bit of testing with a mechjeb, 4.5 LFT\'s and an LV-T45 engine. What i found is a steady increase in velocity as fuel burns off. in order to hover, one has to constantly decrease throttle, rather then just decrease it when a tank runs dry. I\'m pretty sure they are working as intended, but you are welcome to check for yourself. 8)
  8. I am 100% positive the way I described is how they are supposed to work. Then again, the SRB\'s burned from empty up to full weight for like 2 full revisions before anybody playing the game ever noticed. If the behavior you are describing really is occurring from LFT\'s not decreasing their weight correctly, experimenting with LFT\'s could be a great way to find, reproduce, and document a possible bug. ;D
  9. Liquid Fuel Tanks, SRBs ,and RCS tanks have a 'Full' and 'Dry' weight value. As fuel is consumed, the part will go from it\'s full weight to it\'s dry weight. (The tank itself has to weigh something after all, it can\'t be entirely fuel.) This means that not only does your rockets weight go down as you burn fuel, but decoupling an empty tank will decrease your rockets weight even more..
  10. [mod]I don't think there is anything left of value to be said in this thread. The discussion of how people would like KSP to look like is fine. Disagreeing on what KSP should look like is fine. Calling people names is NOT ok.[/mod]
  11. You know why it\'s called RAID 0? Thats how much data is left if anything goes wrong with either drive or the controller. You want fast loading times, go for an SSD as an OS drive.
  12. Phone, wallet, 5 pound weight, car keys, a lighter and a pack of smokes. With the car sitting just below me, I\'m Set! 8)
  13. [mod]I'm going to lock this down before it devolves into a petty shouting match.[/mod]
  14. Meh. I\'ve started bigger internet riots over dumber things in my youth. It\'s cool. Especially since you took a moment of self reflection and changed. Brohoof? 8)
  15. Nice textures! Just remember you have to ask permission to reskin non stock (player created) parts, but don\'t worry! You may have a line of people waiting to texture their stuff. 8)
  16. With all the crap I give the world about pronouncing the word Aluminum, I guess they can call me fat. ;D
  17. Not really a constructive post there. The pics are not fake, because we are looking at them. Obviously they exist, therefore they are real. The question is 'Photograph or Rendered?' Personally, I don\'t care. They\'re pretty. We can however, get down to brass tacks and ask ourselves. 'What have these images been rendered from?' If it\'s an artists imagination, then it\'s pretty. If it\'s rendered from actual geographical data from Mars, then it\'s Pretty Awesome.
  18. They sure are pretty, but I\'m almost positive they are rendered. They appear to be copyrighted to a single person. Photos from the mars rover or other mars probes would have copyrights to space agencies. I wouldn\'t mind scenes like that in KSP, but I don\'t know if it can be done .
  19. Sponsorship would be paying money for OTHER people to see your name on things. Sponsorship is not having your name included in your personal copy of the game for free as a bonus. So quite simply, it\'s not sponsorship. Sponsorship would be Squad holding a contest to have a stock rocket in every copy of KSP named after the contest\'s highest bidder. Squad has never taken the stance you are leasing the right to play KSP. You buy KSP, you own a copy of KSP. Not only that, you get future upgrades free of charge. They only ask you follow the EULA which says 'Don\'t pirate it' 'Don\'t Decompile it' and a few other legal things I don\'t feel like looking up (no warranty is implied, this is alpha software use at own risk probably). Finally, KSP doesn\'t use game servers since it has no multiplayer. Even if Squad no longer existed, KSP would still run. The update servers could be gone too and the game would still run at whatever version you have Squad is not Blizzard or Ubisoft. I suggest you look up some of harvester\'s posts on his view\'s of piracy and\' buying leases for games\' instead of buying the game. You\'ll like what he has to say

    Anime

Shirows stated many times that he\'s ashamed of M-66. Arguably, the manga is actually worse then the OVA in this case, as it\'s harder to follow and can never have sense of tension or fear the OVA does. As far as James Camerons Battle Angel, I have little faith he will do it right. I\'d like to see the whole manga played out from end to end, but that would take way more movies then the American public would ever go for. This means we will get a single movie that will be an amalgam of the whole story, and I know will be missing some of my favorite scenes and characters. He can\'t do worse then the Battle Angel OVA\'s though. Edit: I just realized I forgot about Dominion Tank Police! I\'d do anything for the puma sisters. =P)

    Anime

It all started with Akira and Ghost in the Shell (the movie and manga) Black magic M-66 (Masamune Shirow\'s Terminator movie) The Battle Angel Manga Bubblegum Crisis, Tokyo 2040 (don\'t bother with the others, they suck) Mind was blown by NGE (the original and both movies) Samurai X (3 amazing OVAs) Jin Roh Lain, Texhnolyze, Hellsing. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (the 2 TV series, solid state society, etc) Appleseed Appleseed ex machina Oh god. So many good old Anime. All the new ones suck.
  22. The only DRM I\'d ever want to put into a game would be one that can only add to the players experience. Perhaps your name comes up as a kerbal or somewhere when you pay for the game. 'Username memorial space center' for example. This could be hardcoded in somewhere that is not impossible, but not trivial to find. End users would never see it as anything but bonus, 'Cool! My Name is on something!' At the same time, potential pirates of the game will say 'Wait a minute. This game has my NAME ON IT. I don\'t want to release it to the net as a torrent, I\'ll get caught.' The Hardcore pirates will create an app that will let you change the name to whatever you want. You can\'t stop them, they probably do software cracking with a white hat as a day job, and put the black hat on at night. So why bother thwarting them. Such a light sort of protection might not even be worth their time. The ultimate result of a system would be the paying player gets something that makes his copy of KSP unique (even if it\'s just a silly nameplate). Casual pirates won\'t want to host their copy (because it has a silly nameplate) and hardcore pirates might not bother with what would probably be a 1 minute hack in a hex editor. But I stand behind what HarvesteR says regardless of my own views.
  23. Who\'s the one guy using 'other?' > *Imagines some guy using OS/2 in a basement somewhere* I currently run KSP on this
