I think it'd be SPECTACULAR if someone involved with this mod would set up a web site with wiki for the mod, including all of the detailed information that today rests in the OP. In particular, I think the wiki should have an area where server operators can list standardized information about thier servers. (name, ip, location, joining procedures, required mods for server, contact information for operators, etc) good idea?

[0.20.2] Mission Controller v0.10 (06/24/2013) [ALPHA]
eoosting replied to nobody44's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanks a million, malkuth. -
I'd hate to stall the release of other portions of the mod once you have them working, so it makes sense to release what you have ... I can tell you that personally the docking cam is the most important thing for me. Not to worry, I realize its a massive mod and we appreciate you freely giving to the community as you do.

Thanks, malkuth. The community, I'm sure, appreciates your fix. May I ask that you release the source, or at least a diff of the files you edited? You need to release the source and license it under GPLv3 in order to comply with Nobody's copyright. -
at the risk of sounding impatient; i can haz steamguages for 21?

awesome! I was just being patient. I'd love if someone stepped up to support this if nobody has gone underground. btw, the work was released under GPLv3 looking at the source on git. That reserves his copyright, but also gave you or anyone else freedom to copy, distribute, and modify his code. (as long as you also distribute your source and otherwise conform to GPLv3) All that said, its completely appropriate for you to pm and ask permission. I'm just saying, if he doesn't reply, you're within the rights he's specifically granted the world to release a derivative/updated work. -
best mod evaar! thanks for this. btw, watch scott manley's vid of the mod if interested and for the OP, he has some great ideas on how you might improve it a bit.

Is there any way to disable the mod on a per sandbox basis? I have two sandboxes, one which is for MC one is free play. It'd be nice if when I disabled the plugin in the free play sandbox it didn't disable it in the MC dedicated one. -e -
Bumping thread to improve visibility. If I don't get any further detail soon, I'll close it out.

Amazing idea. I really like it. Some instrumentation to help carry out suicide burns would be extremely helpful. -e

MonoDevelop is a good start. I've downloaded/installed that. (which interestingly the mac version isn't completely open-source/free) Are there any tutorials, resources, or groups (mailing lists, irc, whatnot) specific to mac add-on development?
-
It seems as if the overwhelming percentage of development (and therefor development help/tutorials) is occurring on windows. Is anyone working on development on a mac and are there resources or tutorials that I'm just not finding when I search? -e

[1.3.0] Kerbal Engineer Redux 1.1.3.0 (2017-05-28)

Can anyone tell me why my SRBs aren't showing up as adding to my deltav? The thrust and time seem to register correctly in the stage, but it shows only ----- for the deltav. -
Rich, also re: web speech api, it might be cool to allow the speech plugin to hollar out key distances or other important information. Like comercial aircraft (and the spaceshuttle) the flight director/autopilot will announce the aircraft's height above ground durring the approach at 500ft, 10ft, and so on. That'd be pretty cool to have. Maybe allow for customized triggers ... could be interesting to call out certain data about relative orientation and distance from targets while docking? btw, amazing plugin. keep it up! -e

I was wondering ... any way to pass off some of the processing to another thread/process that could run on a second CPU? This is an amazing plugin, and I could see this opening up the game in spectacular ways that no one can even imagine right now. My only problem ... it soaks my computer. I have 4 procs, but only one of them does anything while KSP is loaded. :/ Any way we could spread the load, especially with somewhat process intensive plugins? Maybe this is more of a general question for SQUAD, but in particular, I could see the server side of this perhaps running as a separate process instead of within unity?

What I do is affix a separator (TR-2C) to the ceiling of the garage, then mount the rat to the ceiling and release it when you're ready to deploy. -e

[Mac] KSP Manager for Mac OSX 10.7+
eoosting replied to JnyJny's topic in KSP1 Tools and Applications
Maintaining plugins is such a hassle, and running on Mac means I realllly wish this manager worked for me. Hopefully the developer will return to the project. -
What are the tricks to getting mechjeb to work with "probes"? I've created a spacecraft with a mechjebAR202 on the main capsule and a detachable probe, also with a mechjebAR202. The probe is lower in the stack then the capsule, and attached via a stack decoupler, rcs tank and 4 thrusters. When I detach the probe, mechjeb will close, and often I can't end the flight or switch sessions. I have to <cmd>-q the app to close it. did i mention i'm on a mac, .16, mechjeb 1.9.1, and no other plugins, though I do have an extra part or two? And exiting and going back seems to be busted as well as going to the spacecraft or the debris which is now in the tracking pick list results in the hang. I then need to remove the debris with the mechjeb from the persistance file by hand to get things to work again. What am I doing wrong, or what can I do better to improve my chances of getting a controllable probe, which seems like it must be possible since I've seen Scott Manley do it in a video. Thanks in advance for the help or pointers. -e

I am curious if the mecjeb developers have considered implementing something like a "flight director" function. For those unfamiliar, in an aircraft a flight director is essentially a display of the control inputs required to maintain the desired attitude, while not actually (or perhaps not necessarily) taking control of the flight controls. So I'm imagining that mecjeb would indicate to the pilot what control inputs, direction, throttle settings would be commanded by the mecjeb were it set in "auto pilot" mode vs "flight director" mode. This could be an excellent learning tool for pilots or those that just want help flying without the full auto-pilot. Thoughts?
