Wraith - Light VTOL Gunship
chunkblaster replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I'm honestly more impressed with the low profile ship you used in the first video (that's not to say I'm not impressed with the gunship because I certainly am!) any chance we can see more of the little boat? -

The Mother Of All Drop Ships...

Hah! Your not the only one who saw that cupcake. Mind = blown. -
I've had issues with shooting projectiles at extreme speeds, especially if they are rather small. They seam to simply pass through the target most of the time. Have you had any success at such speeds? I've noticed the same thing, and this very issue has completely halted my development on the Baldr Mk2. When I first put this thing into space in 0.19 (I think?) It was very accurate and very reliable. But in more recent versions of kerbal, the gun's reliability and accuracy has dropped off dramatically. Until I can design a better choke and feed system, the Majolnir unfortunately isn't a practical weapon

The Mother Of All Drop Ships...
chunkblaster replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
That's not a detachable cargo hold, just wanted to demonstrate it could carry the same payload weight as yours And it handles remarkably well, I'm sure due in no small part to the 12 SAS modules on it lol. That, and this design makes it easy as blarg to line up the center of Mass on the cargo bay, so it's almost perfectly balanced as of right now. And the Horizontal engines aren't coming off, so it won't be a true "drop ship", so you'll still have claim to that title -

Hey Cupcake... I'll just leave these her for you.. Ye aint da only one 'round ere who got them ther VTOLS. (P.S. not trying to mooch off of cupcake's thread, but I did promise him some healthy competition ) -
Thanks for trying it out, and thanks for the review! Always good to here someone else's take on it. I'm sad to say the Mk3 Hoenir won't be as maneuverable, but should have a fair bit more Delta-V and a much less parts count That was one of my biggest issues with this craft. That, and that I couldn't get the fuel to flow how I wanted without a mess of fuel lines.

Kind of a strange looking craft, but it sure handles well! Nice work!

The Mother Of All Drop Ships...
chunkblaster replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yeah but I'd say you managed to pull it off anyway. Looks powerful with those giant rocket engines towering up on the sides. -
Huh, ok I'll try to figure out what's wrong with the download link. And the fuel is pretty well around the center of mass, but I couldn't get the fuel to drain in the order I wanted it to, I think it had to do with the middle jet fuel tank being the root part, but I'm not sure. The problem will be resolved on the Mk3, I was just getting worn out with this design, had allot of strange issues I had to work around to get it working at an acceptable level. EDIT: I never noticed it before but i guess you need a 4shared account to use it, thats lame. I'll try and use another website for the craft files.
