That's not the point Redcrown, they were excited about their feature, they wanted the rest of us to be excited too, honestly all this negative reinforcement is only going to make Squad retreat away from the forums even more, why do you think we never see any progress posts from the devs anymore? We scared em off. People ought to realize that there are actual people on the other end of these posts. And how would you feel if your life's project got ridiculed and criticized every step of the way.

This is getting ridiculous...I have been away for some time from the forums because I wanted things to cool down after they scrapped resources. I'm sad to say not much has changed. There are a few people still on the forums that seem to be here to help but the majority of what I've read over the last few days has shown me that the vocal majority of forum users are not. To be completely honest it's no wonder why Squad hasn't given the forums a road map, they don't want their vision of THEIR GAME dictated by others. If these people really wanted to encourage Squad they would have been excited to see the POTENTIAL in this latest developement. And to all those who feel butt hurt about destructible buildings, K.M.A. Also Rowsdower's original hypetrain thread was for THE ENTIRE UPDATE. It was the users who hyped up the secret feature, NOT Squad. So if there is anyone to blame for ANY OF THIS it's the users! So get off your high horses and hype vehicles and go practice crashing jeb into the VAB. [Moderator Comment - Edited by the Moderation Team]

Ive found that a mixture of wings and air intakes as pontoons make for a nice ship.

The "You know you're playing a lot of KSP when..." thread

When you go around a corner and burn retrograde in order to "fall" towards the gravity well. -
In Harvesters most recent blog post, he showed off a picture of the new VAB root part functionality. However, in the same picture, to the left of the "new" button there is another blue button with some eclipses on it. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! Could it be something like the sub-assembly loader mod? Discuss away!

I just wanna know what the heck she was doing on EVA before the shuttle docked...also apparently ( it looked like it anyway ) the ISS was right next to HUBBLE. Oh and according to NASA the massive majority of debris in the same altitude of the ISS is at or less than 10 cm. Ps. Still gonna see the movie anyways. Space is good!

I'm pretty sure Harvester said it wasn't coming in .20 because it was too much code right now. He said it wasn't coming yet, he never said it wasn't coming ever.

KSP is great because: It has given my something to totally let my inner nerd shine. It's great because I can talk orbital babble and have my friends give me sideways glances. It's great because it is one of the coolest feelings to see someone who says they would NEVER play this kind of game find their way to the Mun in awe of their subtle yet grand accomplishment.

As with any generalization, there is always an, or multiple, exceptions to the "rule". There are always those who will fall on either side of the fence and, since its pretty much an even split here, the likely hood is that Squad will find its own way to implement what it feels the game needs.
-
In terms of their current game scope, if this were to ever be implemented, I think FTL dependent travel is unlikely. It may end up being a straight line to the star with high warp but I believe squad will do their best to satisfy even the most picky of their fans.

I see this argument ending up being the war between the more "casual" gamers and the hard-core simulator guys. To address some of the questions coming up in terms of realisticness I would argue that neither party is right. One one hand you have the sim guys who want ultra-realism and time dilation near light speed (keep Einstein in mind when talking about this) and the "casual" people that want the interstellar expansion into the universe. Now, to those who think ALL FTL is "magic" it isn't. There are theories, Alcubierre's bubble, where the space time is compressed, with highly dense material, in front of the craft and expanded behind it with negative mass. The last is somewhat sketchy ill admit, but it is not out of the realm of reality completely. ALSO the "all other engines would be obsolete" argument can be addressed as such: activating an Alcubierre bubble drive near a planetary body of any kind would cause the ship to fall toward the nearest SOI and annihilate both (again look up the Alcubierre drive/bubble for cross reference). This means your ship has to exit KERBOL SOI before you can run the FTL drvie. I smell end game material here, does any one else? (Again cross reference my info as I am not a theoretical physicist)

This game has been so well done so far that, would you believe it, I completely forgot this game was alpha. Anyways, I would love to see the ability to manipulate and move small planetary objects, like asteroids, around.

Devs and CM's you guys are the best. I have been part of a few other early alpha build games and NONE of them have shown the receptiveness, kindness and overall compassion to their fan base like you have. To the CM's, despite the hate you guys most likely have received, and i'm in no position to understand what that's like, you have kept this forum the neatest, cleanest and family friendly forum i have ever come to be involved in. This game has brought me hours upon hours of entertainment and the forums have been the greatest community environment I've ever seen. Best regards and heartfelt appreciations -Flyer10254

I posted this thread before the great forum crash of 2013 but haven't had the time to remake so here goes. I think this is more important now more than ever. This is a thread to give a virtual hug/high-five or whatever to the devs/CM's. Lets just show some appreciation for the developers and managers of this game we have fallen in love with. My example: Devs and CM's you guys are the best.
