    Is this free (at least for me) DLC based  only on the history of space exploration or does it have a look even to the close future tech? Making history could mean even trace new paths with new technologies.

    yeah... i can understand now.... but where is Felipe? 

    I have to admit there were almost no progress in the game once he left the chair. And pls Fix that damned "Drill-O-Matic" Mining extractor Once for all!!!

  4. 2012-08-01..... since i bought the game

     

    and yes... Squad is Squad. They had a product in mind and they released it after almost 4 years... every step, the Mun, Docking system, manoeuvre system, other planets has been added as promised without asking a half cent more. THIS is what i call having squared balls.

    TT is not a game development, they are money makers. They work as and industry... It's something really different from being over all the parts creating your own idea and project in direct contact with the community, and i have to say the best community ever. 

     

    And More than that... TT has not wrote NOTHING at all in this forum, assuring, greetings themselves with the community. 

    So... that's not good if they don't have even a PR to interact with people. 

    They don't have even a plan... but Who need a plan when you have Money! a lot of Money! and more Money to cover your mistakes? 

    Weapons, aliens... other solar systems FTL drive, prostitute and drugs. I think they have already choose the color of the Kerbal blood... Can't wait to have my orbital brother and to have Jeb sniffing the Mun dust...

    ... i have the game i paid for, now all this stuff is useless and if i want more i have the support of the community MODs...

    this game have already so much stuff to be implemented in the vanilla that i can't see nothing TT can do than it's already done.

    So... the only way to spill money from the ALREADY customers is to block MODs and force to buy their stuff...

    What do you think? they will declare such a thing now? They are far from being stupid.

    my only question is... will i have to re-pay KSP to have the same contract i had with Squad?

    i want to say that Squad Always took UP the community requests as primary goal. I can't forget all the steps followed by KSP, and the Devs works as good as i fell part of the project.

    As i could see from the 1.1  the game progress are not enough. Feeling like reached the top of the cup.

    TT have nothing to do with a game like KPS. In all theirs games there are violence and guns.

    We will see:

    an impressive Graphic bump with an absurd system requirement.

    A new "no brain" game where even a child could build an SSTO with 100t of payload.

    new cool features to keep calm the most of the players and to reach new customers without respecting the soul of the game. (that as been kept clear until now).

    the TT logo instead of the squad one at the start of the game.... i'm already crying.

    TT have to place the hands and give a personal touch the the product. But i don't think they will face the fact that the game was Already amazing without them, and they will don't mind to change every line to repay this investment. Business is Business and we are just customers. 

    From me, that was a really amazing trip with Squad.

    Not true. Placement of intakes relative to engines doesn't matter in the least. Placement of intakes relative to air flow does.

    Intakes produce a resource, "Intake Air". Think of it like fuel, or electric charge. Each intake contains a small tank for Intake Air, and a part that produces more of it; how much, at what rate, at which altitudes and speeds depends on a bunch of factors, specific to given intake model. The effect though is that the "tanks" fill - sort of like a solar panel plus batteries. There is no specific binding between the "intake" and "tank", one intake can fill the "tanks" in all other intakes just fine, just as a solar panel fills batteries.

    And then there's the engine which drains all available tanks of intake air. It doesn't care which intakes, where, and how filled. Like, say, a light on your ship, keeps shining as long as there's EC in any of the batteries, never caring where the batteries are or how powered they are.

    Completely regardless of the above, engine performance depends on a bunch of factors, like speed and air pressure. Depending on that performance, rate at which the "tanks" are drained of intake air changes. The engine may sputter out due to too low pressure, still having plenty of intake air, or it can choke and keep igniting and sputtering out as it drains intake air faster than intakes can fill it.

    In normal situation, intakes produce intake air at a pace vastly higher than engines require, and engines drain it really fast too; all intake air in the "tanks" combined, without supply from intakes lasts for maybe 3 seconds of flight. Now if you have not enough intakes, or intakes that perform poorly in given conditions, the engine might outpace the intake. But in great most cases, it will lose thrust due to excessive speed or too low pressure and as result nearly cease draining intake air, long before your intakes cease to provide it.

    Conclusion: Get a reasonable amount of intakes of profile that best matches your intended speeds (shock cone for hypersonic, ram for supersonic, circular for subsonic), point them against the "wind", and don't sweat it. You really don't need much to keep your engine satisfied until it sputters out for entirely different reasons.

     

     


     

    So aerodynamic and part placement is the key. (sorry but i was still up to the old intake system where you could reach speed up to 2200m/s at 35km) now my best is 1500m/s at 24km and have to comple the orbit with brute force ).

    i've tried to place intakes inline with the engine, and seems that the trust is higher than placing the same inline intakes laterally, is that the intake flow or just a matter of aerodynamic? who knows...

    how to get better performance? i get better performance with less intakes with this example, may your can explain better your tries please?

    Since the dawn i could understand how the intake influence the engines. Now i can't really understand how the air intake system works, really it look like faked in every test i have made.

    My tries brought me this conclusion: every engines have a altitude range were they works. you place a useless intake and the engine works as the same as with 4 or 6 more suitable ones. Rapier always stop to works at 30k, the trust always decade at the same altitude. Seems that the system is auto limited. 

    So my request and my question: will be possible to have a more clear in game value to understand the relations between the engine and the air intake? apparently the system is totally broken. 

    And i ask the community their experiences to understand better this odd. Have you some math to show? have you found a way to understand the actual system? what do you think about air intakes?

    Life support is the Huge missing of the game. Huge missing. And if you are worried about the 90% players saves... it's something that worn the pay. Restart a new whole campaign. Life support is important as it was the docking before implemented and will change the game as the resource harvesting has done.  

  10. My idea will born with a Forum contest where Squad would choose :

    the most appropriate crafts (full stock, numbers of parts etc etc...)

    suited for each role (Station, spaceship, rovers, base...)

    and then:

    fit them in game as new kind of missions:

    ASAAA space agency Station (example) needs to be refilled with "ore" ( i'd like to have more resources in STOCK game like water/food DAMMIT life support should be THE really FIRST priority as was the docking once upon a time...)

    hem hem let's continue... 

    As you accept the mission a ASAAA space station appears (the same as you have to save an unlucky kerbal) the where depends.

    Refill the station and the ASAAA space station will formulate a "refill contract" with you creating a trading route (that's WHY more resources are needed) you have to satisfy too maintain the contract and the "daily" income. 

    Asteroids in full Platinum will increase (as a trading resource in kerbin) the will of drilling and the wallet.

     

    1)  STUPID SUGGESTIONS (neurons food)

    Ok here the fun... i don't really like ASAAA space agency i really hate them and i dislike the most theirs design.... I ACCEPT THE MISSION and fire a huge UltraHeavy Missile right on top of their station A#¶[@ò*.... unfortunate acting like this will make ASAAA space agency produce missiles against my precious crafts all around the space ( not just rise my killboard ) ... so new interception mission (intercept that missile before reach your station, save ASAAA spaceship from a pass thought the sun...)  or defensive ( probe distorter signals... ECM..) or elusive missions ( change orbit trajectory )... or even boarding actions like old skull pirates... just  to create a real no rules competition over space... just paint the space with green blood. beware from the dark side.

    Taking advantage of the actual kebals skills i will add mental and physical insanity (and the kerbals aspect give confirm): Sending Jeb in a 666 days sun orbit inside a can of beans will make him ask for chili... but the same trip with irina "the 30daysmonthmestruate" keman will transform you trip in a "New Horizon" style nightmare... consequences? any use in game? any fun? no of them... read point 1.

    Multiplayer.

    This is the best Thread ever in this forum and should be always on top.

     

    Second-

    this thread have the pure KSP spirit in it.  Hours of test, failures stress and work are replaced with a laugh of happiness.

     

    Third-

    the thread makes all the people who takes (wrongly in my personal opinion) the game too seriously apart (and that's a good thing). Calculations, MJ, hours of planning, cheats, "amazing projects" are nothing against the real happening of the fun (or the kraken).

    So I've been checking some of the life support mods, but it seems like the only options I can find are the 'amazingly complex' or the 'amazingly simple.' Therefore, I'm curious- what do you want?

    a) Just Oxygen levels

    B) Oxygen and CO2 levels

    c) Oxygen, CO2, Food, Water, waste

    d) Oxygen, CO2, Food, Water, waste, heat, et cetera?

    there's no need to have it complicated, just oxigen will be great without adding frustration. So amazing simple

  13. Looking forward to contracts and all you people worried about mutliplayer: Don't. They're laying the groundwork. They have to. The earlier they start the less work they have to do later hammering multiplayer into the finished product. It's bad enough they're starting this late, don't hate on them for not putting it off further! Nobody's going to force you to play multiplayer, and any server admin worth his salt should be making backups on a frequent basis. This isn't going to be a Half Life server. It'll be more like a Minecraft server and they solved these problems years ago.

    And Squad: Take your time. I've still got plenty to do in 0.23 and it looks like contracts will nearly require a career restart.

    i'm sorry but i belive people are worried because see farthest than squad. MP is really a time waster made only for the people who want PvP. ( if your intents are different than that you are already wrong. There will be nothing you could do to prevent the inevitable). So introducind MP will bring weaponry and "alien" all in one. Point 2 aside the really unfriendly time sync, I have problems having a 300 part ship and it become annoyng playing when 1 game sec is 4 real secs how the hell they think there will be a way to coordinate let's say 4 players with a 100/120 parts craft that try to fly closer each other. MP is like something that only few can andle. point 3 if there will be no mods in MP the 90% of the people who is claiming it now will change opinion. Point 4 i don't really think Squad know what is talking about, even graetest company have troubles with MP with simplier games. Point 5 there are too many open doors that need to be closed before proceding wasitng time on such project. Point 6 comparing to the world of mod the vanilla game is really poor of content, i don't know how many people would had left this game if only the vanilla

    were inplemented at this state think about it.

    And aside all these evidences i'm worried about the MP too.

So I know it's way too early to even be discussing the mechanics of removing multiplayer from the game, but what I am more interested in is seeing how many people would even want a mod to remove multiplayer from the game if they do implement it. I'm not even talking about it as a "civil disobedience" sort of thing... I just feel like seeing the words "multiplayer" plastered across my KSP main menu would give me physical illness, and would rather it just not be there. Anybody else feel similarly?

    hehe i like this sort of rebellion, yeah i fell the same, and i'm still sure MP will not be fun otherwise to PvP, race, destroy etc etc... FINALLY ORBITAL BOMBARDMENTS!!!!! and the wrost thing is that this forum will be full of .craft and screens with missiles and military crafts....

    the moderator say the MP will no accept military... i say a SRB could be a weapon. And he really overstimate the community aim for MP

  15. have you noticed that the 90% of the people ( me included ) when is doing science doesn't even read the result? keep data or transmit to gain points.... points we need points!! for science? no for points! Points that could be changed in science goals to gain specific technologies. There's nothing more to say about resources. Kerbin will be the only place in the universe having resources. OhHh dear Giordano Bruno*save us!

  16. This is speculation. Besides, good luck with Star Wars-like dogfighting with realistic orbital mechanics. Even if what you say will happen, the new young players will easily get frustrated and bored when their AssKicker V can barely get off the ground, not to mention real fight. But it's just speculating - you can't even aim in KSP and the devs were against militarization of space from the very beginning. It won't happen.

    mate i hope the same too but devs are losing control. we should gain more informations about this MP before say something but i'm SURE military will be the main propose of MP. So we should ask to devs

    How MP will be part of KSP. Will be only by internet? will be be it playable in LAN? how many players in the same time? How you could coordinate a time based game with a constant out of sync. Even a sec in KSP will change miles routes. Sorry but i can't really imagine a stable fun real MP for a game like KSP. It looks like a fake MP with Players Encounter. may we have more infos about it please.

  17. The community has been a cesspool for a long time. People still make battle-esque craft, but that's not a bad thing. Some of them look very cool. I do agree that squad is shooting themselves in the knee and ultimately succumbing to the vocal majority's whims. I wouldn't really call multiplayer a cancer either, as it could be fun, for a few days maybe. It's more like an extra finger. Sure, it's okay to have and may get you some attention, but in the long run it really does not help you any and just causes problems for you later on.

    you'r right let me explain better: Mp will move the spot light to the military offensive and destructive it's a simple consequence. surely you can use the MP for cooperating but that will be only possible by a LAN or private game. So in conclusion that's a cancer for the space program. tanks, missiles offensive VTLO will be the most importats crafts, no one will use science because is better to shoot.
