  1. My lack of 'Scott Manley-esque' skills is my biggest limitation. I used to have nothing but problems with docking/rendez-vous but time and effort fixed that. Docking is easy once you learn the tricks.. burn towards target until you get close, then burn retro until the 'target m/s is 0', rinse, repeat. I also learned tips via Youtube such as how to lower/raise your Peripapsis during Interplanetary Transfers by pointing your craft towards the top-most/bottom-most gimbal (either red/blue). I have built several space stations, mun/minmas bases but never outside of Kerbal.
  2. Not sure if it happened in .22 or previous versions but I got a huge performance boost going to .22. Full res, everything cranked up and even with a massive ship, I easily get 20+ FPS on launch and well over 60FPS in space. The visual beauty has also increased so I find there are many more 'screenshot' moments. Of course career mode is awesome. I just wish the possibilities were documented so I know what to perform and when. Example, when to use the thermostat? barometer? Goo container? Material Bay? I've figured out from watching other videos but I'd like to see something similar to Steam's achievement list so I know what to do and what I've already done. Currently I don't know if I got points for visiting Jool or any other body. I also like not using MechJeb as much (used it almost all the time before career mode) as it forces me to learn how to do the more challenging things like interplanetary travel. I've always been able to land on Mun/Minmas manually but interplanetary travel is very difficult. Been playing since .13 .. love this game so much.
  3. I sent 3 Kerbals to Jool, visited Gilli and then accidentally clicked 'revert mission' and lost all my science. Now I must do it all over again..
  4. Very impressed with everyone's achievements. Here's my attempt without trying to get too many points on the first go. -Everything has to be started with a single rocket (no building ships in orbit or refueling in orbit) -You have to fly a LOR mission (you need a Command Module [CM] and a specialized Münar Module [MM]) -No mods! All stock, no Mechjeb. (Did Neil and Buzz land by auto pilot?) -BYOR (Bring your own rocket) - The rocket must be your own design +30 for the basics. Goals - 3-man Mission +10 Check - 2-man Lander +10 Check - 2-stage Lander (leave the decent-engine on the mün) +20 Check - Main rocked aspargus'd? -10 (Wernher von Kerman does not like aspargus!) Check - Escape tower? +10 Check - Lander stored behind the CM during ascent +20 Check - Lander tucked away behind some fairing? +5 Check - Free return trajectory to the mün +10 Check - Flawless landing (no parts broke off, Neil Armstrong is watching you!) +10 Check - Got a Munar Roving Vehicle (MRV) on board? +15 Nope - After succesfull Mün landing docked CM and MM in Orbit (no swapping ships without docking them first) +10 Check - MM disposed by crashing it into the Mün (remove Kerbal first!) +5 Check - Plant flag on the Mün (no cumulative, i.e. two flags don't get you 6 points) +3 Check - Spashing down on Kerbin (land on water) +5 Nope. I tried but ended up with a ground landing - Kerbal dies -20 Check That's 143 by my count. I'll post the short version of the video soon. Be kind when watching the video as I made several mistakes.
