Thanks for all the comments, I learned alot! though the plane I need only has to lift about 1ton into LKO. After that the probe itself can get to almost anywhere. The plane I used is alot smaller and barely makes it to orbit.
I've almost completed the tech tree other than the final tier, My reason for this plane is to lower launch costs. I've also heard that smaller wing areas make for a more maneuverable craft. With a bigger wingspan I am afraid of my plane spinning out of control when trying to re enter.
I can build planes, I can build a lightweight probe that can go to three planets in one trip. What I can't do is to merge the two together. can anybody show me a design or explain to me what makes a spaceplane work?
So I've been happily playing KSP Career mode and have gotten quite far. Then I realised that I didn't actually recover 100% science from each area. Now a half of me wants to go back and get collect the last scrapes of science points while the other half of me is too lazy to do so. What about you guys? and what do you think I should do? Get 100% science or just forget about the small percentage left over?
I've tried building a ship to do a return mission, but I just can't seem to get there. Main problem is it takes so much fuel to establish an orbit around Duna. anybody has any suggestions?
I tried going into the local files to run it manually via KSP_x64 and Launcher but they both crashed and couldn't start? is there a way to just make steam automatically select the 64 bit one?
The video below should more or less show what the game has to offer and the message it is trying to convey. Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlvkh95ehgA&feature=youtu.be Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkXNd_Zha5g
