You can use those groups of 4x3 as extra groups so you can have 4x4x3 except you need to raise the rocket higher than the launch platform so it does not clip during launch . This way you can carry a lot to orbit.

Is anyone playing around using heaps of solids in bunches like this? You can extend it in branches to pretty much any size.
