As a current college junior majoring in both biochemistry and neuroscience (MSU), with a few years of lab experience in both of those fields and plant biology as well, I was wondering about a few things. I have this dream of bettering mankind through space, be it helping to grow plants on Mars, studying the effects of drugs in space, or working with engineered organisms. Currently doing research, I have no idea where to go from here, my first thoughts are NASA, but again, I don't know. Here's to wishing spacex had a biochemistry department, but that may be a more long-term goal.. I was wondering if I could get any feedback, or at least a direction to look! To put it simply, I want to make Carl Sagan's (and countless others) vision of humanity exploring the stars a reality.

Grave Aerospace. Has a nice dark ring to it.

I've tried that too, let it run on timewarp for a while but didn't see any change. Do you think there would be a way to kickstart them to spawn? Maybe some sort of soft reset? I guess I could start from scratch again, but it'd be nice to understand what's wrong at least. Hmm. Reloaded from the debug console after fiddling around with my persistence file (and comparing it to a new save). Seems like the problem is fixed.

Looks like I have version 23.5.459 installed, no dice. All of my mods work well regardless if it's a new save or the old, it only seems to be the asteroids that aren't working.
-
Has anyone found that by bringing over a save from 23.0 to 23.5 no asteroids spawn? As in I can start a new save and they will appear, but in a ported one they will not. Thoughts?

Horizon Aeronautics - Development Thread
Greywind replied to stubbles's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Hmm, fair enough. Perhaps the way AIES is done then? They do have tiny separation motors if i remember correctly. Though I have the utmost faith in your ability to make it work. -

Would looking at KW's fairings help? MODULE { name = ModuleAnchoredDecoupler anchorName = anchor ejectionForce = -200 explosiveNodeID = bottom } Though that may only apply to their method of attaching fairings, I don't know how yours are set up stubbles. -
Singularity Research Initiative - dev thread
Greywind replied to Daemoria's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Impressive. And everything has a certain style to it, I can't wait to start building. Take your time though, of course! -

Holy... I was not expecting that. How big is that thing? -

Hey Daemoria, if you have a free chance, I wouldn't mind seeing some more rocket concepts, it's really refreshing to see new designs. -

Very impressive! The capsule is stunning, and I'm definitely looking forward to the rockets. -
Alternis Kerbol - Development thread
Greywind replied to NovaSilisko's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Using a couple of different copies of KSP would be fine, no need to fret. Anyways, this seems to be coming along well nova; even simple views of the sky from kerbin really sell the idea. -

Well this is, stunning, to say the least. Nova you do not disappoint, can't wait to see more of this project! -
Always loved the starfighter; beautiful aircraft, and a beautiful replica.
-
Persistence file? Haha

Anyone else having trouble with mediafire? -Edit: I just ended up copying and pasting into notepad haha, that works too. Amazing craft Mulbin, you never disappoint! And it is scary how well-proportioned this is, very nice. -Edit: Although, it does seem to implode in on itself every time I try to launch it, any thoughts?

All craft from my Constellation mission vid
Greywind replied to katateochi's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This is one of the most amazing things that I have ever seen come out of KSP, I wish I could shake your hand. Realistic and very well thought out, great video too, I liked the contingencies. -

Nice to hear from you again stubbles, and don't sell yourself short. Most mods don't have the attention to detail that you do, keep up the good work! -
How Did You Name Your Space Company/Corporation/Industry?
Greywind replied to orangexception's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Grave Aerospace. Has a certain dark irony to it, but at the same time sounds quite good in my opinion. All of my designs are realistic and safe, with the core visions being that we should explore the universe, while at the same time becoming the shepherds of our home planet. I use some scandinavian-themed names such as my valhalla research station, along with rockets such as the guardian or defender series. My most advanced orbiter is the Nomad, carried to space on a guardian reusable two-stage lifter (spacex styled). -
Now that is a beautiful aircraft, looks like a real spaceplane.

Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. That and the other equations you will readily see in physics have been derived from more-complicated equations using more advanced forms of mathematics. Look for calculus-based derivations of motion equations or something of the sort, I'm sure you'll be able to find what you're looking for. That is, assuming your (1/2)at^2 equation is the simplified form of the displacement-time equation: x=xi+vidt+(1/2)adt^2, if not, then I could be completely wrong haha.
