Naw, that’s how all of his presentations are. A gifted speaker he is not. -

This just rein from His Muskiness: Lindsey Stirling going to moon: confirmed! that’s a joke Seriously, tho: Zipline: confirmed! -
Stick a truncated cone in the center and you’ve got an aerospike.

Speaking of such, how about a fix so Comic Sans doesn’t show up as, like, cursive on iOS devices? -

You're trading fuel for consumables (water, O2, food, etc), also they mentioned "skimming the moon then going way far away (above both moon and earth)," some free returns do just this, one of the mission plans for Orion, IIRC. Like Musk said, the mission plan isn't even close to being finalized at this point, so that's all subject to change. -

Apollo 8 reached peri-Mün 69 hours into the mission, including time in a parking orbit, sounds about right. -

Figures. Interesting stuff finally starts and I gotta go drive. I trust the forum will have it completely over analyzed for me later. -

ZOMG THATS WHY THE NEW DESIGN LOOKS SO FAMILIAR! It’s the Planet Express Ship! -

So this dude’s a billionaire, right? I wonder if they’re announcing some big financial thing, too, like he’ll fun (a big part of) the whole thing if he gets the first ride, or something like that. -

*cough* gridfins... *cough* -

Not for the whole stage two, just for a separable (maybe gliding, with those canards?) crew module, as some have pointed to needing for NASA (or anyone else) to trust the thing with people, at least at first. -

Hmm... another observation... ...the BF booster does not seem to have grid fins anymore. -

It looks like the canards fold up. With good flight control software, they might even be what stabilizes those great big fins effectively in the middle of the rocket until the booster separate. (Kerbal isn't always the best example with such) I have to assume SpaceX has some really smart people who've figured the aerodynamics out. The fact that they now have those canards, and folding fins to execute that tricky flip, is pretty good evidence of this. Like Musk has said previously, full aerodynamic control and stability during re-entry, between the canards and the fins I think they've got that, now. Theoretically, of course... -

Mo. Definitely canards up front. And I swear those look like pods for abort engines too. -

That sounds... entirely reasonable... But now one is given to wonder why they didn't start work on it sooner... -

I recall that was one of the big upgrade points on B5, since it was taking so much damage before. I wonder why they’re still pulling the legs off, tho? They’ve obviously gotten the folding thing at least partly working. -
We work with what we’re given.

Oh, sure, it’s all ooohs and aaaahhs now, but then you get a quadruple eclipse and those beasties from Pitch Black come out, and then there’s running and ... screaming. Asking.

I think he means you’ve discovered the Eye of Sauron.

And, it’s official, we have oooo’s and AAAAAAAAA’s! Guys, take a closer look at the nose of that render, re: flipping and stability... does that look like a canard or some kind of rocket?? Edit: ENHANCE! Zooming in on the direct from twitter image... YES, that does look like a deployable canard... and maybe a rocket pack... like for abort motors... -

Every redesign it gets closer and closer to actual Buck Rogers. Fascinating development, tho. Elon did say a little while back that there would be BFR news/updates coming, only a month late if its Monday.
