  1. Same issue here. Everything is at current version, and I've worked out that it has something to do with either the service module or the heat shield. If I launch a modified version without those parts, all is well. What's very strange is that the are no events reported in the mission report (F3)...I was thinking it was a issue with a connection between two parts breaking.
  2. I hate to bump this, but I'm still having issues with this build, and I'm stumped. Just hoping to get some advice from my fellow Kerbalnauts. If there's another thread I should post in, I can do that.
  3. Yes sir. Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit. @Leonov: According to AMD I am running the most current drivers. That's the strange thing.
  4. Hey everyone. I just built a computer for the first time in years as an upgrade from my old laptop I had in undergrad. I'm having what looks like some driver issues with KSP and the embedded graphics on my APU (AMD A10-6800K, GPU chipset is a HD 8670D). I know the APU isn't nearly the same as a discrete card, but I feel like I should be getting more than the 2 FPS I'm currently getting. Even my old Toshiba Satellite A305 got better than that. I didn't build this machine for gaming, but I've heard of people playing graphic-intensive games with just this APU at 30 FPS at 1080p resolution. Seems like KSP shouldn't be an issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Specs: AMD A10-6800K APU w/ HD 8670D (tried both stock 4.1Ghz and OCed to 4.6Ghz, tried latest stable and beta AMD drivers) MSI FM2-A55M-E33 (Newest BIOS) 8 GB of DDR3 RAM at 2133MHz 550W Antec PSU
  5. Holy framerate Batman! Looks good though. What's the part count on that bad boy?
  6. I have the store version. I can't be certain as to whether the ASAS system is actually "broken" on some installs, but what I have I do like most of the time. I mostly build rockets, so I have very little input on planes. While launching, I do see some movement toward the prograde indicator (if I have ASAS locked off of the prograde) without me telling it to do so, which makes me have to adjust it manually, if only slightly. While some might pull their hair out at this, I consider the alternative (large, complex rockets wobbling themselves apart from engine gimbal compensation) to be worse. Perhaps the strength of the reaction wheels' corrections need to be increased during burns/launch? While in orbit or in transit, I have not had many issues with ASAS. I have experimented with what it does with RCS compared to what it used to do, which is eat through a 2.5m tank of monopropellant in about 2 minutes (exaggeration, I know, but it's for effect ). Mostly I've seen very few instances where I've had to move the craft over to a maneuver node, for instance. While burning, it seems to do a fairly good job at keeping my heading where it needs to be. Any small issues were solved by turning RCS on. One thing I love about it is the ability to control the craft while the ASAS system is on. That alone makes me like this system more than the old one. I won't point fingers at anyone having a lot of issues and say they're being unreasonable or anything. I'm sure there are issues with the new system that need to be solved for many people. That's why it's release 0.21, not 2.1. For my purposes, it's been mostly positive, with a few minor caveats. I'll keep experimenting with larger and more complex craft, and post feedback.
  7. Yup...I actually had it open on my phone today to check for the 0.21 release. If they didn't want me to be so impatient, they shouldn't have shown me screens of the new KSC.
  8. It looks it. I probably wouldn't dare start something like that...for fear of it nearly crashing my aging computer every time I came within drawing distance.
  9. - Moving / Folding joints and attachment nodes - Some Space Station / Base modules besides the Hitchhiker - Stock payload fairings...if not for the aerodynamics yet, just to make it look cool. - Inflatable stuff - Science! Stuff like working antennas, sensors that do more than give a readout, a research system, etc.
  10. Like so many others, my forum account needed to be remade. However, I consider myself fortunate, since I only joined the forum very recently. Anyway, I am a senior undergraduate student from Virginia, USA. I'm studying International Relations. I am a total space nerd, and grew up (like many others) wanting to be an astronaut. While my goals changed, I never stopped thinking space flight was cool. KSP totally brings out that 7 year-old who wanted an Apollo action figure for his birthday.
