Aircraft parts There are a few nice looking aeroplane packs. BUT i have a few ideas for wings and fuselages that would look pretty vanilla... Ill sketch up some concepts tomorrow for that.. Walker legs Hmmm. They would be hard to use. Making them would be pretty simple (I think?) Just need to loop and halt an animation. I may test that out at some point. Boats as far as i know, there is already a boat addon pack, and im unsure as to the methods people use to make boats that actually work. Flags Also, Flags will be in vanilla KSP next update. Diferent Lights Having many lights on a ship can cause amazing amounts of lag (Just ran some tests) So i guess i could make a "Lights and glowy bits" pack, one called High Performance and one for Low performance (second one emitting no light, just the glow of the lamps) Ill get started on that tomorrow. -

Thats a very cool idea! Ill have to work out how to do the animation for the expanding with fuel (Possibly animate up/down a frame for every unit of fuel? Hmmm, What parts to you propose? I can see things being usefull like larger crew cabins, also science cabins... -

Thats the idea , And thanks for reminding me, I'll add that to the main post. I'm also playing around with a hovercraft concept, Where the hovercraft will change its friction with the ground based on velosity and air intake, this would have issues with going on water, but i think its possible to write a small plugin that will work. -
Greetings everyone! I made a thread a few weeks ago called Greebles and Doodads, and from the responses I got it seems like there are big areas in the add-on supply that are left untouched. Some ideas for part packs require programming, something I'm not too good with, so if there is anyone out there who would like to collaborate with me on something, then that would be awesome too. Now I have a few weeks/months to kill while i look for a job, so I'm looking for things to practice my 3d Art on and i would love it if i could benefit people with these pieces. So please folks, I would love suggestions for items and such! Ideas list Role Play parts General Structural Pieces Lights, glowing items and similar pieces ship "Bulking" parts Second Hand parts (Rusted and falling apart?) Strange, Almost alien parts Car Parts Dropship parts Army parts, not weapons exactly, but things that look milatary Things like massive Soda for Bottle rockets Podracer parts Note that these parts will be custom items, As i do not like building other peoples creations (I mean like building Anakins podracer, instead i will build parts that look like they fit a podracer) These parts will also follow the same general theme as stock parts. If this thread is breaking any sub-forum rules then please notify me (I couldn't find anything saying i could not post this here) Parts i have made in the past Ingame Screenshots Ship Lights Assortment of parts Skis!

Alright, after a bit of thinking, i have decided to rename my part pack to something more appropriate, I'm taking suggestions, I'm thinking something like "Kolonization Pack" And going more in depth in the variety of parts available. Im thinking of adding parts that would be more suited to ground based stations... Things such as Blow up Green Houses with food output Water Processing plants Water Drilling stations Living Quaters Power Plants Communications Unit Ground based Fuel storage Blow up temporary shelters Vairous science stations Other random dodads to be placed around ships Note that if i was going to do anything that requires resources.. say, Food to keep kerbals alive will require large amounts of water, would require the input of someone who is good with writing plugins. So if you are good with plugins, then please PM me and we can chat about this -

I seriously recomend either A: Cutting down on your polycount Or B: Baking highpoly to lowpoly, There is just no way these parts will ever work in game. Google what im talking about, it may take a little bit of time, but its worth it in the end, Trust me -

Nice looking stuff, i only have one crit and that is the poly count on your models, Are you planning on baking these to lowpoly + nice textures? because KSP and unity cannot handle such... gratuitous polycounts -

Forgot to upload this image last night Few diferent sized lights for making things look cool! Sadly i havn't figured out this "On - Off" switch thing yet.. If i ever get the time i will probably look at making a plugin so you can control all your parts, like a SIM game. so for example you have to have a sewage disposal unit running if you want drinking water while you are on Duna, This is a bit above my head right now, so if anyone is interested in helping out an artist with a project like this then I will be very happy to make assets! -

Alas! Lights were far easier than my inital thoughts on them (Literally just placing point lights in Unity and exporting them with the mesh ) Ill get started on making a few different sizes because goddamn those look cool. -

I was actually thinking of making pipes, just not sure how to go about it as, for the most part, they will be the wrong length. But ill give it a shot, its only a 15 minute job -
For some reason whenever i clicked the loop tickbox the part just would not load (Caused ksp to freeze on startup) I have no idea why, but that setup works for me

Aha! I recently had to figure this out. in those two drop down menus, select "Looped" (The menu should be "Default" by default)

Im thinking of custom resources, but i lack skill in most forms of programming. Im an artist by trade and this is what I do. So if someone is willing to get something like, food, water, sanitation and air going then i would be a very happy man (Imagine Jeb and Bob having little kerbal babies on laythe in their self sufficent space base!) Edit; no matter what i do, my animated parts will not load. Im not sure why this is happening (Went through the proper unity exporting procedure) any advice would be grand -

Update time Got two new parts made this evening, just spent the past few hours trying to figure out how to animate these things with no prevail.. Anyone have links to a guide, or modules that i can use to make this work? -
5k should be fine for an entire ship. 600 for the landing gear is good, you could drop a few polys on your wheels though, or make your wheels larger, so you can see the detail in-game. (otherwise i suggest making the detail in a texture.)

Good ideas guys! Ill start work on some smaller parts, the lights sound cool too, possibly in 0.25m, 0.5m, 1m and 2m lengths? I have not tired animating things yet, but i could give it a shot, shouldn't be hard at all. Edit: Huh, where did my main post go? can anyone else see it, because its not there for me... The goal of this set of parts is to make stuff that people would want to use on their ships to make them feel more alive, Give ships a bit of zest, a bit of pizazz.. if you know what i mean. My current aim is to make parts for colony ships, to make them look functional when they are on a distant planet. Parts List Air Purification Unit Extraction Fan Hull Truss 1M Hull Truss 2M Lamp Small Lamp Medium Lamp Large Large Radiator Sanitron MKII Small Radiator Small Window Update - Figured out this animating thing, now i have a extraction fan! NOTE. MAKE BACKUPS OF YOUR CRAFT FILES BEFORE USING THESE PARTS. I CANNOT GAURENTEE THAT THEY WILL WORK AS THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS Download Version 0.2 (latest version) If you have any experience with the math behind mass and similar things then please mention if im doing stuff wrong for my parts.
