  1. Not as often as I should, I usually forget to quicksave...
  2. Was the a.s.a.s. turned on? I used to use mostly probe cores but now I mostly use them for craft that I don't need to turn very much since the manned pods are much more responsive.
  3. The easiest way I can think of would be to achieve the same orbit as the thing your are trying to dock to, very similar to dock to something orbiting Kerbin. Use RCS when you are about 50m from the object and at a releative velocity of 0.0m/s (+/- 0.1m/s) as usual. It's difficult to say something more specific without seeing the orbit of the rogue object, can you post a solar system picture with the orbit perhaps? Naturally it would seem that it would be best to catch the rogue while close to Kerbin but I think that is much harder.
  4. Had a similar problem perhaps that I managed to remedy. Had a base and was landing a rover but missed by a few km, so I drove up to the base and soon as I got close enough to see it clearly it exploded. Managed to avoid the explosion by decoupling a part that was dock and secured with quantum struts, after that no explosion. Never had any problems with the shielded docking ports so far...
  5. It's space and I can do what I feel like, I don't have to follow some path specified by someone else. I actually get frustrated when I fail and feel good when I complete what I set out to do!
