  1. It´s boring for you grinding all the biomes? Just don´t do it. Set your own goals. Lack of creativity?
  2. I have never truly used the SAB. I tried it once for some small brainless testings, but nothing more. I´m happy with the VAB. I hope they don´t change the tech tree in a way, that one has to use planes. Would be great if they offer 2 seperate trees for instance. One for VAB, one for SAB (just as a rough start. You probably need parts of the VAB in the SAB and vice versa etc.)
  3. Regarding the slow pace of updates: nope.
  4. Lovely how you mention "DLC" for a game which is not even close to be finished. Games perish thanks to early access.
  5. It amazes me that many people welcome the fact that KSP is "only" at 0.23. As a buyer, I see a serious problem in it. 2 1/2 years, and KSP is only at 0.23? Another game which will never be finished. My opinion, voted for the last option.
  6. You would need to find a way how to handle mass instancing. CryEngine isn´t the smartest choice for anything else than FPS.
  7. Do we have any estimated schedule for the new update? They´re already testing it, right? Have paused my career until the new update is live.
  8. I think it was either 15$ or 20$. Whatever the price tag was in february 13
  9. Thanks for the tip! I was able to get 89.9 science points by this way! A good amount for the beginning, now I´m able to rescue Jeb
  10. Yesterday I started KSP again after a few months brake. I started with a fresh carrier and tried to design something flyable. I was able to achieve a flyby of the Mun really early, I was eager to await the science results. As soon as I landed back at home, I ordered Bob to collect a few samples before getting the stranded vehicle back. It seems that the points for science modules on the ship (filled with science of course) won´t count to the end result if the brave pilot is not inside the vessel at the moment you press the button :-/ In a next attempt I wanted to land my brave Bob on the Mun, I changed the design a bit (not using any of the cheating stuff like MechJeb etc.) and thought it would be enough to land on the Mun and to return safely. http://imgur.com/a/DXR0N Good news is, it was indeed capable of landing on the Mun. In the heat of the moment, I accidentally ordered Jeb to maneuver the ship instead of Bob. The reason for the rough landing was the shortage of fuel. I had literally just enough fuel for not smashing into the ground, I was still too fast but Jeb was able to do some tricky kerb-move in order to survive (and turning the vessel). I´m not sure if he realized that he won´t return for quite some time :/
  11. Same here. Didn´t launched it (ba dumm ts) for a few months. Still waiting for updates which will update the game with something to do.
  12. I have not made it yet out of the home planet/moon/minmus :-/ I´m too scarred to go for anything else
  13. Doing it the same way. I find this more kerbal like.
  14. Today I wanted to get my first space station part into orbit. Sadly, during the first attempts I had not enough fuel for getting the orbit done (was about ~1900m/s). So I decided to send my Kerbals on EVA for some nice light show. Suicided Jeb. After some time I was finally able to establish my first space station part in a small 100km orbit. I´m planning on docking some more fuel onto it for increasing the orbit. http://imgur.com/a/KLewD Staging is kind of tricky with this one because the first two rings are just powerfull enough for lifting this if all engines are firing. As soon as I get rid of some (because of my precious design) the whole ship begins to fall. Only the last ring is capable of pushing the remaining weight into near orbit. With two remaining engines I will then establish an orbit. I´m pretty proud of it Maybe I can finally go on a rescue mission for my long lost Kerbal who is just orbiting the sun since the beginning.
  15. Hi there, I have finally designed my first probes ever (never used them before the latest update). They are basicly just falling antennas in some orbits around Kerbin (one in 150k m and one in 1000k meters). My goal was to establish some kind of communication network, thought it would maybe be possible to increase the transfer rate on those experiments (instead of having a 20%, maybe 60%). I think it does not work this way, does it?
  16. I managed to land on minmus yesterday too (even with recovery). In my moon mission approach I had barely enough fuel to get home (had something like 7/180 liquid fuel after setting up the way home). So I thought: I need more fuel for Minimus! Well, it was a little too much at the end. But maybe I´m able to do my first planet visit with it. http://imgur.com/55ybQM7 And I underestimated the low gravity. Took me half an hour for starting again (my landing part was flipped on the side).
  17. Hi there, I was firing my new rocket to the little moon. Short story: I accidently hit quickload (thought I had saved a few seconds before) and ended up with a savegame which is quite old :-/ Any chance for reverting this?
  18. I did not tested it yet. But if you drag and drop the commando pod /drone head into the dropzone (therefore moving the whole ship/rover/satelite), is it possible then?
  19. Hello everyone, as all of you, I was eagerly waiting for the latest update. Sadly I played a bit too much yesterday and today I didn´t hear the alarm clock. So with the newly added career mode and its science part I've been thinking that it would have been a great help if I had started with this version of the game. This point might not be true for the majority but I found myself a bit overwhelmed by the number of parts I could use the first time. So my first flights were something like: "I take the orange tank, the big engine and will try it ... no wait, 4 orange tanks in addition to 4 big engines might be better!" It was funny indeed, but I had no clue what I had to do (I was not very interested into space). The result? I didn´t knew what an orbit was so I was directly doing head-ons on the moon for getting there. After watching some videos online I realized how kerbal - arm- stupid I was. Now back to the topic. For the scenario of a completely new player experiencing KSP: I think it would be a good idea to combine the career mode with a few ingame tutorials, maybe connected to your state of science. So everytime you´re researching something new (well, not everytime, but just for the main parts), a small textbox/kerbal with voice will explain you briefly what you´ve just unlocked. Keep in mind that I´m not suggesting a focus of manpower on this for the new versions! I just wanted to share an idea/vision about a career mode with a newcomer friendly access.
  20. I made my first attempt to the little moon, with succes! http://imgur.com/a/G0UL9 I might want to change the rover design though. Does not seems comfortable.
  21. Everything is working fine here. I´m not using any mods like MechJeb etc. cause I want to have some challenges. Where´s the fun when you just turn on the auto pilot and voila? But nevermind, its your playstyle I only crashed once, because I didn´t had enough fuel for landing. Killed some random Kerbal there but Jebediah was able to take the second run succesfull I´m now at my old enemy, rover landing.
  22. So we will get some new textures, broken savegames and maybe a few more parts? What´s happening with the big updates? We see the same "problem" in minecraft. An update takes months and brings nothing except a retextured pig ._. ?
