[1.4] SpaceY Heavy-Lifter Parts Pack v1.17.1 (2018-04-02)
Temeter replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hey, i've got a bit of a weird issue with the paint jobs: In my heavily modded install, i can't swich the Tank/SRB's paint anymore; instead all of the variants are shown at once (=z-fighting+decals of all variants). Kinda wondered if it's an incompatibility, so I tried a stock game with only SpaceY+Exp. Here, I couldn't switch paintjobs at all, but they also displayed only the white standard model. EDIT: Nvm, found it out myself after checking the configs (finding firespitter reference~). Probably had an outdated file from an older release. RoverDude seems to have updated the dll's tho, I replaced the dll and it seems to work: https://github.com/snjo/Firespitter -
At times the whole tower spawned inside my rocket.
-
Giant, towering pancakes, only being held together by a very questionable physics engine and a million struts....
-
It's much easier to see now what's happening tho, and the game does look a lot better.^^
-
They were worth it, but the stragies mostly play out as slight modifications to rewards, nothing too important. Personally using Strategia atm, which is quite fun.

Idk about that release thing. Played KSP long ago before it was cool (and went on steam) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
To be fair, there have been a few quiet significant updates inbetween.
-
Yep, I currently have a mechjeb equipped timewarp craft sitting in KSP, but that function would be incredibly usefull.

My craft came directly from moho.

Thanks! I'll try a more vanilla version and shift around some mods. EDIT: Shifted all mods away, started a new safe with only cryo engine mod and nothing else. Still the same result, no context menus. Also the same exception in the log. EDIT2: I replaced out the B9 part switcher by this version: https://github.com/blowfishpro/B9PartSwitch It claims to be only for 1.0.5, but with this one the context menu works and I can use LH2 fuel. Interestingly enough, b9's .version file in cryo engines and the github above both claim to be 1.0.1, but are different sizes.

Hm, I just installed Cryo engines+KAtomics and now I don't have a context menu for any tank, be it stock (using venstock revamp) or other mods tanks, like KW rocketry. Can someone confirm or reproduce the issue? I'm honestly not sure what might have caused this, could be a mod conflict, since the last updates broke a bunch of mods (via part mass modifier and recent update killed mechjeb). Idk if it's helpful nertea, but here is a log: http://www.file-upload.net/download-11499141/output_log-randcryo.txt.html Sadly don't got an up to date vanilla folder, so i can't test the mod in a clean install atm. EDIT: Hm, those lines looked interesting:

I had that issue just now in 6.0 in high (hyperbolic) orbit, combined with the clouds 'shrinking' the closer i came. Getting lower fixed the problems. Didn't yet check in the newest version tho!

[1.4] SpaceY Heavy-Lifter Parts Pack v1.17.1 (2018-04-02)
Temeter replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I see, atm it feels more of a super skipper. Although the skipper is one of these versatile stock engines that aren't really either lower nor upper stage. I'd say leaving the stats relatively high and making it a more expensive upper stage engine would enhance the stock game nicely. Basically as an upper stage equivalent of the vector. Found the engine to be quite usefull for bigger planetary stages where the poodle is too weak, and combines well with the raw, inefficient power of the moa or ratite engines. Basically an alternative to the nuke, you could say. -

New prices look good. Only thing that stood out to me, the penguin still seems super cheap. Despite the larger diameter (which can be easily worked around), it's as strong as a skipper at the highest vac ISP in the game by a margin. OP engines aren't really an issue or anything, but 3.2k (skipper 5.3k) seems cheap. I think something around 7k would be more reasonable, maybe even a bit above? -
How the hell does KSP/its mods take up so much memory?
Temeter replied to mr_trousers's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Eh, I usually just use my WLAN cable to download some RAM. -
[1.12.x] Kerbal Atomics: fancy nuclear engines! (August 18, 2024)
Temeter replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
What do you base that idea on, tho? Gotta give some numbers, not just pictures. Those H2 tanks in the pic are pretty large, looks like ~9m diameter tanks? -

They are that large in reality. Can't remember the exact numbers, but LH2 is like 6+ times the volume of Kerosene. Edit: The numbers on wikipedia might even indicate 10 times the volume? Anyway, that stuff is huge. Just look at Saturn 5: The second stage is 2/3rd the size, but the lower stage is almost 5 times heavier (LH2 stages ofc contain the denser LOX too). -
Let's put this in a nicer, less egotistic way...
Temeter replied to Matuchkin's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
You're right, now I remember. There were always a large number of derivative mods to eve tho. -
They wobble as far as I remember back, they had always some issues. Well, 1.1 will break them, so they might as well be removed in the next version or if they aren't being redone to add suspension.
