^sorry for the late reply, but your link didn't work!
-
yes it's on spaceport.

Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I'm a science teacher and a huge kerbal nerd... how would one sign up to be one of the original 50 schools to implement the new educational version of KSP?

Have you ever had a non-intentional collision in orbit?
Rufus Callahan replied to PTNLemay's topic in KSP1 Discussion
ha once again i came to post my Kessler Bomb album and here it is in it's full glory already -
Ha I came to post my "Kessler Bomb" album and realized it had already been posted

Kerbal RCS strength
Rufus Callahan replied to innovine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I think this is user error or a glitch in your game. This has never been a problem for me. (this post is not intended to be degrading in any way... just that I've never seen this happen aside from a random glitch here and there) -
Mission Replay
Rufus Callahan replied to Rufus Callahan's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
^eh, well that's why i apologized in advance -
I apologize in advance if there is already a post about this or if it's forbidden, etc. It would be cool to be able to re-view a flight once you are done with it... I don't mean just a video but something where you can watch the entire mission and switch camera angles, etc. This would be great to take screenshots after the fact instead of having to take them while you are piloting. Is there a mod that does this? Would doing this cause my computer to divide by zero and explode?

you should crossfeed and ignite all of the engines at launch.

Do you use abort systems to save your Kerbals?
Rufus Callahan replied to EiEiO's topic in KSP1 Discussion
i do because i don't like dead kerbals and i don't "revert" unless i intend the flight to be a test mission. i don't mean to sound condescending if i do... it's just to add another challenge to my gameplay! -
did you select the docking port as your target?
-
you know it's a good game when people of all ages can enjoy it and become a community... I'm one of the old people (33) but am completely obsessed with it
-
the only time i have a hard time docking anymore is when my massive structures in space are causing my computer to lag. that being said, when i first picked up the game (about 9 months ago), I couldn't dock to save my life. I tried to eyeball it because it just "felt right" to do it that way... wrong. Use the nav ball. I don't know if I ever actually look at the ships while docking... I do it pretty much all via navball. (get the three things lined up and you will be good to go!) The biggest trick I use though... when I'm in close I just switch to the other ship and turn it to face the other ship... then i don't have to worry about lining the ships up perfectly... just get them to face each other and it solves a lot of those headaches.

Killing your Kerbals: does it make you feel bad?
Rufus Callahan replied to Boris_T_Roach's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I make sure not to lose Kerbals... the one caveat to this is testing... I do test my ships and then revert back to VAB until I have the final design I want to run... this kills "simulated" Kerbals, but once I launch a mission the danger is real... so far I don't have any Kerbals on the dead list -
The reaction wheels do help keep small rovers more stable on the surface of the mun (or wherever) while driving in docking mode, which means docking mode driving is still useful.

I'm not sure if it has been suggested or not, but maybe kerbal scientists will discover that the Kerbol system is actually part of a binary (or trinary?) system, with planets around each individual star? This would make the distances much more manageable without "magical" star trek like technology. For example, the closest star system to Earth is Alpha Centauri. It is a multiple star system with two similar sized stars (Alpha Centauri A and which are similar in size to the Sun. The two stars are roughly the distance that Neptune is from our sun. There is a third "companion star" (Proxima Centauri, or Alpha Centauri C) that is much smaller (red dwarf) and is much farther away (about .2 light years, or 400 times the distance from the sun to neptune). To me, if the Kerbol system turned out to be similar, it would make interstellar travel much more manageable and feasible.

Every time there is a new release I start my space program from scratch... it has kept my interest up and gives me unique challenges such as changing my standardization of things like docking port height, style, etc.

I installed the latest version of KAS today along with the latest version of Kethane, and KAS was completely wonky. the game crashed no less than 3 times in 10 minutes, two attached craft spun wildly out of control (and exploded when disconnected), sent my spacewalking Kerbal randomly careening off 7 and a half kilometers, and made "F5" non-responsive. This is the first time i've used KAS since .18... i was highly disappointed.

I pronounce it like a cow would. Moon. M-O-O-N, that spells Mun.

[WIP] Space Launch System (SLS) and ORION (MPCV)
Rufus Callahan replied to Stevincent's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Someone commented on the first page that the RS-25s are not SSMEs... in fact they are. The first several SLS launches in fact will use the ACTUAL engines from the retired space shuttle fleet before a new simplified SSME is designed and produced. (The engines in the orbiters on display are mock-ups just for looks.) And by the way, to reiterate what most have already said, these models look absolutely amazing.
