Another case of learning...the default key for screenshot in KSP didn't take a single pic...had the same problem with the key for fine controls being mapped to caps lock by default...no matter how many times I hit caps lock on my mac...ended up remapping it to ~ another key to remap lol

I'm just practicing with my current setup for a while while suppressing the desire to attempt something on a larger scale...I think that would just end up frustrating me...let alone thinking about what your talking about
-
Attempt after attempt I finally got a successful dock. I took the advice of "taking it slow" a bit further than was intended (I ran the target velocity down to .2m/s 1km out). It took a while to get there but I was so tired of coming in at speeds I see some of the tutorials (50m/s or more up to 1k) thinking I was going to be okay only to not be able to slow down in time and watching the other ship pass me by (queue over corrections)....anyhow...now that I've actually been able to pull it off I dont feel quite as noobish

Unity to KSP: A Detailed Tutorial

Anyone have this working on a mac? When I get the parttools its just a normal zip and when I unzip the file it comes out as a normal folder and I'm not able to get it installed in unity the way this tut has you do it. -
Welcome to a great game and a great community.

I agree with Ham...the ingame tuts I thought were a waste of time and made the game frustrating to start but Scott Manley's videos are really very good.

Welcome...I dont have the profile your looking for, but welcome all the same

I'm going to try on the Mun again this evening, last time I overcorrect way too much and it kept getting away from me. On the upside, when I put the same lander on Minmus I identified some design flaws in my lander that explained why my lander was crashing every time on the Mun. Specifically, I had my landing gear just a bit too high up...so when I was setting down on the Mun it was actually setting down initially on another component making the ship list on landing...Thank God I'm not paying for these ship builds every time

So what I'm getting from that is it would be a funny joke if I told a friend thats just starting in KSP that he should practice his landings on Kerbal?
-
Saw a tutorial by Scott Manley where he suggested going to Minmus with a lander since the lower gravity makes it a fair bit easier. He's totally right (smart guy that Manley). With the exception of getting a good encounter, but hey I need practice/experience with that as well. Anyhow, I was wondering if there is any real benefit to practicing the lander style landings right on Kerbal? The higher gravity/atmosphere would make it harder, or is the space around Kerbal unique enough (compared to the other planets) that it wouldn't really translate to better skill on other planets?

Grats on the satellite! I've gotten mine into a decent orbit as well...tonight the fun part of trying to dock on an additional module
