So, I recently found the old version archive. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/24858-Old-versions-of-KSP-%28some-versions-still-wanted!%29 I wanted to fulfill a goal of revisiting the old ksp and success fully landing and returning some kerbals. ( I got the landing not the return down) One thing I felt though while trying again and again to get back to kerbin, it was really easy landing on the Mun. I was able to land very easily in the past versions, but I feel it is much more challenging in the new updates. So, I wanted a poll. Do you think it is harder landing on the Mun has gotten harder as ksp has been updated and progressed?

I loved this video it just makes me think how great ksp and the community is and the ability to explore the game and even explore our own universe when you realize ksp is an inspiration from the great things we are doing now

My problem is they don't look like regular legos I mean if you made them look like lego people instead of these small odd figurines I would enjoy the idea more

Save Crew Settings
recon14193 replied to recon14193's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I understand that because this is the first update with crew that this is to be expected, but that is the point of a suggestion. I am not so much angry as I am trying to improve the game by fixing something I see as negative. I am not a computer guy, so I have no idea what IIRC means, but it sounds like it would mean a large amount of overhaul with the devs, which I would like to lessen, so they can work on bettering the game through new features e.g. resources campaign. If it would take a large amount of work, I recommend they have the default set as no crew loaded, and every time you try to launch a window will pop up saying like "wait you haven't loaded any crew would you still like to proceed?" or something similar. -
I am making a space station, and it is big, so I have to go back and make adjustments to keep it from falling apart. I clear the crew in the VAB, but every time I go back to the VAB it always recrews the vehicle. I don't want to send kerbals up until the station is done. I just get annoyed that I have to keep clearing crew and that it does not save that setting. I think it would be a good idea to have it set up for vehicles that if you dont want crew you only have to clear that once and it saves that as an aspect of the ship like action groups or what the ship is made of.

The term "link" though is what I am having trouble on. For me to believe that you cheat death you must be fully assimilated into the computer. If you are not then the computer cheats death not you. I would you to expand on what you mean by "raid the 2 together" I don't exactly understand that. I agree with your sleep example it brings up the greater question of what is us. Our cells all replace in about 5 years I think I saw, so we aren't even the original biomaterial. It makes us ask how do we define or know what is us.

Where is the evidence though to suggest that you could transfer yourself? I would agree that yes you could stimulate the brain, but it seems more like a coin flip at this moment. I feel like we don't know if we will really be or if we will not be. I still feel the problem is of if we are the machine. When we die, the machine has our personality and our memories, but is it really us because we can upload ourselves before we die. We could see this machine that is us, but are we it is what I mean. Would we feel the same sort of control over it that we feel over our body at the exact same time, or would we feel this wall of separation staring at this machine that is in essence us, but we will rot and it will last as a monument to us in a way? I know that there are experiments already where man controls machine, but the send and receive source is still the human brain. I mean will we know, understand, feel, completely mesh with this machine that we are suppose to see as us. I find it as more plausible if you find a way to indefinitely preserve the brain or head like in Futurama sort of. I don't understand completely destroying all of our body. I don't see how it can become completely us. The consciousness that makes us know that this is me. This is where I am. I don't know how we transfer that. I still feel that there would be a wall of separation between our body and the machine with us feel that we are still us and the machine is a copy because it does not have that connection or thing that makes us that. I dont know how we could feel that dual existence then have our entire body that feels die and still feel that we are not dead but alive in a computer. We can also come up with our own educated guess that it wouldn't work because of this. I agree we can stimulate, but not transfer our being. Our current experiments show we can control the mind and stimulate machines, but not that we could transfer our being but we could transfer personalities and memories.

I don't really think it would be cheating death though. You transfer your memories and your personality, but you don't transfer your consciousness. Both you and the computer copy could exist at the same time, but I feel it would be like having a clone, not like you are living as if you are a computer. I feel in the end the body and in essence you would still die, but the copy inside the computer would live on. However, it is still not you.

Couple name ideas: Kerbonomy:The KSP board game Kerbastronamics Kerbopoly: The Space Conquering Board Game Krisk: The Kerbol Conquering Game Kerbal Board Program and for general ideas: it would be cool to make the planets and their moons pieces that move each turn so that you can launch any time you want but you lose least delta v on certain turns but ovbiously because of this far planets like jool have more points in relation to close ones like the moon as I said before research point or cards or some kind of research thing where you unlock things like the nuclear or ion engine I'll let other general ideas bounce around and get back to you i'll tell you if i think of any ore names too if you don't like those

Action Card ideas Short Circuit: you forgot to deploy your solar panels, your aircraft is lost without power Extreme EVA: your rocket does not arrive at the location but the 520ms delta-v in the rcs pack gets your kerbal(s) there Jebediah Expertise: Jeb's faith in more power more boosters adds x delta v but if you roll x number you miss your target due to lack of control over boosters Buzz the Tower: the reckless action of flying your rocket by the tower before ascending has grounder further launches until after your next turn Aero Brake: On a planet with atmosphere and and transfers to moons of Jool adds delta v by decreasing amount needed to circularize 0.19: Your kerbals discovered the wheel, which allows you to move one ship to another location on the same planet Government Grant: Faith in your space program allows you to launch two rockets on your next turn TT18-A Launch Stability Enhancer: Increases ship structural value by x points Intercept: Poor timing causes you to miss your target, but you intercept another body e.g. going to minnimus but the moon catches you on the way alt-f12: Your next launch has unlimited delta-v but your points gained are quartered I'll come up with more later. I think it would be coll to add a research card aspect too that allows you to use parts like the nuclear and ion engine.

2130 BSB - First recorded rocket. Kerbals now use rockets to send their elders to the underworld, I think that should be overworld because underworld seems like they carry it to a high point and then try to launch it so it burriess into the ground kind of kerbally but seems better as over world in my opinion

I have seen some news about development of warp drives and watched some videos about them. I see how they bend the space in front of and behind them and that made me think. Could this disturb the orbits of planets and celestial objects if it is used because the force I know of in the universe that can bend the fabric of space is gravity, or at least how i see it is demonstrated in videos I see when they show a fabric to represent space and gravity.

I just wanted to say thank you so much man. These videos were exactly what I wanted. I loved the intro of the first one because it fit the description of what I wanted out of learning this kind of subject for now. I want to be a real rocket scientist eventually, but that is for when I go to college in about a year.

I have been playing KSP for a while now, but I feel like I am lacking so much because I have no clue how to do any of the math on my own. I always end up with so much extra fuel. I have things like mech jeb 2 which is able on its is able to make these amazing hohman transfers and provides the best fuel efficiency, but I really want to learn how to calculate all this on my own in order to take myself to the next level. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to learning rocket science on my own, or if anyone could start a thread teaching the basics and then building out on that to help me and anyone else who has the same goal as me because I am confident other people probably feel this way.
