  1. I was building a spaceship and went to add a strut when I noticed something quite peculiar: Struts cost 42 bucks! I am not at all surprised that the answer to every problem in KSP (except the one where the rocket doesn't go up) might as well be the answer to life, the universe, and really everything.
  2. Hey everyone! I'm working on making several map of Kerbin with names for the continents, major bodies of water (e.g., big lakes, oceans, rivers), and countries, and I would love some feedback as I complete each map. The original map is by Pds314, and can be found here. All of the names are generated by donjon. Here's the imgur album, as I make more maps I'll add them: I would greatly appreciate feedback on the maps! The Romir Alliance is an alliance between the extremely advanced nation Samarna, and the nation Hytirai, which has recently undergone the Industrial Revolution. This alliance is focused primarily around kethane, as Samarna has promised technological advancements, in return for exclusive access to the large Kethane reserves beneath Hytirai. The Stygate Compact is an alliance between the technologically advanced nation Euegannar and the Zuumalan Confederation of States (ZCS), a loose collection of resource-rich islands in the Zuumalan Sea, which have technologies associated with the Age of Steam. Euegannar gets the resources it needs to fund its aerospace program from the ZCS, while the ZCS are promised protection by the technologically advanced Euegannar. The Alliance of Oceanic States is a confederation of island nations, which are on the cusp of space exploration. The primary factor preventing them from exploring space is funding, since none of the member nations has a steady flow of income. Thus, they pooled their resources to construct a basic runway on the largest island of Elonos, the most equatorial of the nations, such that the alliance may be able to construct spaceplanes to efficiently explore near-Kerbin space.
  3. ...if only KSP looked this gorgeous...
  4. I've seen people flip a kerbal upside down using the EVA pack, but I was wondering how to do that. Here's an example of what I'm talking about (it's at about 4:28):
  5. After about an hour of derping around with maneuver nodes and long(ish) burns, I got my lander-with-a-comsat to Moho and tried to ... well ... land the lander. It didn't go so well...
  6. The Challenge: Successfully land a kerbal on the Mun using only RCS and Solid Rocket Boosters and step onto on the Munar surface. Note: using liquid rocket engines to get the spacecraft into a Mun orbit IS ALLOWED. also, the kerbal CANNOT exit the spacecraft until it touches down on the Munar surface (e.g., you cannot use the kerbal's RCS pack to land) Definition of Successfully: The rocket is undamaged by the landing AND the kerbal didn't die. Sorry about this... I didn't see that this challenge was already posted before I posted it. Credit goes to macbernick for the original post.

  9. Utility Name: 5donuts' Rescue Rover Additional Notes: Splits into two rovers each with a docking port; Has a top speed of 21m/s with the rover wheels (Kerbin), and 40+ m/s with the rockets (Kerbin). Can ascend/descend steep slopes, just go slowly and try to turn slightly while "mounting" and "dismounting" the slope, to avoid knocking off one of the rockets. Has two docking ports (one per individual rover). Can carry two Kerbals, comes empty.
