Help changing command pod in VAB

I got it figured out. When I selected the new pod it was hiding inside my rocket. Moved the rocket out of the way and everything works fine. Thanks! New question: How do I change the title from Unanswered to Answered? -
I haven't played since .19 and I read there is new part editor logic that lets you change the first piece. I want to replace a probe core with a command pod. I can delete my probe core but then I can't attach anything to any new command pods I try to place. Is there something I'm missing here?
