it's not hard to remove the bomb, just take the bomb with the decoupler out and make sure the engineering didnt mess up
-
he takes his helmet off and kills himself in the process of course, how else, unless he has a chewed up piece of bubble gum in his pocket... duh...
-
aparently parts will be able to take damage soon and lose efficiency like the airbreathing engines, imagine a fuel tank leaking, what do you do? send a kerbonaut into the vacuum and have him fix it...

Aerospike engine annoys me!
Vampereon replied to Vampereon's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
tried that, it worked well thanks! -
I have made a plane hopefully being able to achieve orbit, so here\'s the problem. When I activate the aerospike engine it stops working after burning one or two fuel tanks, if it wouldn\'t my plane would have more than enough fuel to achieve orbit. HELP MEEEEEEE!

just use damned aerospace and damned robotics together, aerospace gives propeller engines, ksp now has rotating parts and robotics give hinges and rotatrons so you can rotate your engines mid-flight
-
before the game got it\'s new \'land\' as im gonna call it the dark side of the planet was not stable which means anything landing there would explode, even the pod, a little bit of that bug still exists so you would need to get the time of day perfect for it not to break, i got it right about when the mun was 45 degrees up from the launchpad facing the water and it worked for me

Spaceplanes, Purpose of Air Intakes
Vampereon replied to footman04's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
they already do, right click on an engine like muffins said and it shows how much air it gets etc but for example the ram intake works best at high speeds and altitudes so if you make a low altitude plane you dont need an intake -
Do not make rovers for minmus!
Vampereon replied to Vampereon's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
yeah those are solid i think they are like ice lakes or something but i mean like the mountains and hills have layer problems so you can see to the inside of the planet and sometimes even fall into it or make your pod explode, btw good idea using the plane legs to make a rover, i use carts mod -
Just in case anyone is planning to make a rover for minmus, stop and read! minmus is made in little chunks and is put together randomly so moving between them combined with minmus\' low gravity easily kills you
-
eh what i do is get into an equatorial orbit around kerbin and shift it\'s inclination to match minmus\', from here i see 65° from minmus which is going anti clockwise (0° being minmus and 180° being opposite of it\'s orbit, then i see where i have to burn so i get there so i get there and burn, when i see that my map tells me ill transfer to it\'s orbit i just speed up and wait for it to pull me in where i orbit, land, takeoff and of course get back
-
what i do is go to ascent autopilot and make an orbit on 150km inclined 6 degrees, when im up there i go into orbital operations and click trans (transfer) then i click transfer into minmus orbit and let mechjeb do it\'s thing, when i transfer to its orbit i get my ascent autopilot and click engage which circularizes the orbit around minmus, from there i go into landing autopilot and click land. edit: i have learned to do it without mechjeb and stock parts without cloud7 aka c7\'s new parts
-
i have landed my second rocket on the minmus and i used the rover from carts mod, as i was landing i saw what i thought to were frozen lakes so i decided to use my mun rover, the minmus is made of chunks ( flat ones ) so when i switched chunks my rover fell through and my pod blew up as one chunk was higher than the other
-
I have landed on the Minmus using mechjeb and im wondering if anyone can do it without using mech jeb

[Plugin,0.15] KICOIT - Kerbal Engineer 0.8, Advanced Brakes v2.1
Vampereon replied to jhultgre's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
about the burn time at full throttle you could do this: the standard engine burns 8 fuel per second and in a standard fuel tank there is 500 fuel, so how many seconds would it be -
there should be an option where to spawn for example to spawn in one or the other. the one up top would be good because i wanna land on the north pole i did it before but its more fun being able to have enough fuel to get back
-
I know that it\'s real i just dont know where it is and once i get into the area (just about) the muon detectors dont find anything!
-
i have landed at the mountains where it\'s supposed to be using mechjeb, i first set it at a 75km orbit then i choose the landing trajectory for those mountains, i have landed it safely just that i have 25% fuel left in my pod\'s tanks and probably not enough to fly around the massive area but thanks for the idea of using the munolith detector
-
btw by help i meant like a picture with a cross or something showing the exact location on map
